Spiritual Sunday "Give it Away".

Thanks to Charlotte and Ginger for hosting Spiritual Sunday. To participate post what's on your heart and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

I still don't know how He did what nothing else could. Nothing else had worked. Somehow.....He broke the chains...set me free...gave me hope....gave me life.....taught me to trust. Somehow His love touched me...changed me.  Now.....more than anything - I want to give back. I want to show the power of His love....and help others see and feel and know..... the power of His Gentleness.

Spiritual Sunday. "More"

Thank-you Charlotte and Ginger for doing these Spiritual Sundays. It helps me focus on what God is doing in my life and I love to read what He's doing in the lives of others. Anyone wanting to participate post what's on your heart and then add your name @http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

All week my girls kept asking what I wanted for Christmas. I couldn't come up with anything. I had no idea what I wanted. When we were in the stores today, my oldest kept pointing out stuff ....but I didn't see anything I really needed or even wanted.
It finally dawned on me - I have what I really want: my family, my friends and most of all - God. My daughter's words keep going over in my head. "tell me what you want or what you want more of."

What I want - what I really need - is more of Him. The touch of His gentle love makes me strong. It gives me hope - fills me with courage - calms me down - And makes me really happy.
I know what I want - I want more of Him.

2. His Peace which calmed the anxiety and fears that tormented me

3. His mercy which brought me amazing freedom and helped me to forgive myself

4. His gentleness which made me feel safe enough to let go of the shame
 5. His patience which taught me kindness towards myself and then others.

Spiritual Sunday . "He Loves Us Just Because"

I am really thankful to Charlotte and Ginger for doing Spiritual Sundays. I love reading the posts others write and it helps me to centre myself on God. Want to join in?  Post what's on your heart, then add your name @http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com

This past week, a friend, co-worker and a Christian took her life. I'm having a hard time understanding why. She knew God, she was active in her church....she had a good network of friends. I don't think I'll ever understand but I want more than ever to reach out and share kindness and love with those in my world....He showed me so much love and so much gentleness - I really want to make a difference.

Thankful Thursday

Thank you so much Sonya-Lee for doing this. To participate in T.T. click on the link to add your name after you post 5 things you're thankful for. http://truth4thejourney.blogspot.com

This week has been nuts with a number of things going wrong. I've been feeling discouraged, worried and exhausted. Yesterday I started to think this feels like some kind of battle.  I'm really thankful to take the time to focus on the 5 Things I'm grateful for this week:

1. Armour of God: it's awesome knowing I have tools to fight against the 'schemes of the enemy' and that I don't haved to go it alone in my own measley strength.
2. Belt of truth: knowing the truth - that He is in control even when things look out of control....and that nothing will touch my life that He doesn't allow.
3. Shield of faith: having the ability to trust,  to let go - knowing He has already won the battles
4.Sword of the Spirit: having the Bible verses to remind me of the truth....and to quiet the crazy thoughts in my head.
5. Helmet of Salvation knowing I belong on His team, the winning team, the team that cannot be defeated.

Spiritual Sunday "It's Time."

I want so much to be all that He called me to be. I feel horribly inadequate most of the time, but I'm moving forward. I owe Him. I owe Him my life. This past year, I've written what He did, where He brought me from, what nothing else could to do....the freedom, the hope - Only Jesus could take this Jewish girl and make her fly..I never told the horrible things that happened, how I lived, how much I looked to death as a way of obtaining the peace I desperately sought....My book, In the Eye of Deception will be published mid November. I am still afraid of people in my world knowing how awful and bad it was....but my desire to show the touch of His gentleness...the awesomeness of Who He is...what He can do.....is greater than all my fears. It's time.....It's time to tell. Time to show His power....Time to let go of the shame, the secrets.....I've been trying to set up a website if anyone wants to check it out. Any comments or feedback woutd be so appreciated as it's still under construction. Guys, have a Christ centred weekend.  http://www.gentlerecovery.webs.com.

if you want to participate in Spiritual Sundays post to your blog and click on the link http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/  and let Charlotte and Ginger know.

Thankful Thursday

I love T.T. because it gives me a chance to reflect on the good stuff in my life and there's soooo much of it. Thank you Sonya Lee for starting this and if anyone wants to participate click on the pic.
Five I'm grateful for this week.
1. My family - they're the absolute best and give me the security I didn't have growing up. This includes extended members as well.  We're Jewish and they still accept and love me in spite of my stand as a believer.
2. the amazing friends I have who accept me for who I am and who have been a constant in my life - having experieneced so many people coming and going I am so thankful for these people who are like awesome pillars helping me to stand strong and who have been steady constants in my life.
3. For this inner strength I discovered I have - a push to fight - an ability to stand strong regardless of what happens.  I'm so thankful God built that into me.
4.For all the material things - I have been given so much. Having lived on the streets, living hand to mouth - I am amazed at where God has brought me financially.
5. Most of all - my faith in the Creator - without Him - I would have nothing, be nothing - My connection to Him makes life worth living.
Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey
