"There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle." Robert Alden
When I was a kid...I couldn't talk. I was too afraid...I held my breath... too scared to let my guard down...to scared to trust that I wouldn't get hurt. I withdrew....and lived in a make believe world. One day I invented a friend - a street light.. When I'd drive up to it...it always turned green just for me and when it was red...it was because it wanted me to stay and talk. That traffic light helped me hang on....helped me get through some pretty dark times. Funny thing - I have another Friend who is a Light....He's my best friend....just like that traffic light was - only differnce - He's for real. Now all I want to do is shine this little light of mine....

WOW! Your post are truly amazing and alway touch my heart. I'm so sorry that live was so horrible for you that you didn't even feel like you could talk. I love reading your post and to see how the Lord is your strength.
God Bless you my friend,
Ginger
You do a great job of letting your light shine! Have a great week, Sarah.
(((Sarah))))
Not only are you a light, but an inspiration as well.
Yes Sarah, your light shines. Great post!
Thanks for shining you light on us. Praise God that He heals us from our past and sets us free.
Awesome story Sarah! Love the music too!
God is remarkable --how His creative mind gives us help in all kinds of ways.... from street lights to all else!
Creative Blessings! Thank-you for your sweet comment, too!

Thanks for always letting your beautiful light shine, I love you.
I like this post, thank you.
Great movie, one of my all time favorites.
So amazing how small things can make a difference (a traffic light, an imaginary friend). I love that it would turn green for you and stop you so you would talk to it. You have a beautiful imagination and a beautiful soul.
Shine brightly sister! I know a lot are encouraged by the mirrored Light. Blessings and Happy Mother's Day! Take care and be strong :)
What a touching story. You are a light to so many now....God bless you!
Sarah,
I too was afarid to let people in when I was a little girl. I think when I found Jesus, it helped me to make other friends! It's like His light shown in my soul and reached the scary places to allow me to trust. I think because I know that I have a best friend in Jesus who will always pick up the pieces of a broken heart. You also help my let to shine brighter because I think Christians need support from one and another. It helps to know that other people can feel His awesome presence when the rest of the world wants to laugh and judge. You keep shinin' and I shine with you.
Hugs,
Amanda
It's amazing what children can come up with to cope. I'm so glad you have the light of Christ in your life now. This Little Light song always makes me think of Vacation Bible School. That's the first place I heard it. Thank you for letting your light shine for Spiritual Sundays each week.

"And the darkness could not overcome it" I love your posts Sarah. I love your heart. Blessings Friend.:)
Keep shining for Jesus, Sarah. You make me smile.
Hello Sarah, I am so glad you have been able to overcome your shy childhood and SHINE forth!!
Lovely bright shiny song...I have always loved it. Hugs xxxxx
if we all turn on our lights and shine for Jesus the world will be touched with his love.
Such a precious post, my friend, and I loved that version of the song. Thank you for your sweet visit. Blessings ~
Sarah, you are such an overcomer and a beacon of light! Happy Mother's Day!
What can I say, that everyone else hasn't? I'm sitting here with a big smile and humming that sweet tune ... this just made morning. Thank you!
I loved that movie and my daughters and I still blow the traffic lights green!
Wow. I love this post. What is it about street lights and kids? I never made friends with one, but I always tried to will them to change at my silent command. It never did work--with street lights or anything else in my life. lol
These days, I leave all that to the other light. Have a blessed day.
Sarah, I was touched by your story. Thank God we can shine through our inner light.
Blessings and love, Jeanne
