Corrie Ten Boom lived at a time when life was very unsafe....a time when the world had gone crazy. Corrie and her family were arrested and taken to a concentration camp. All of them except Corrie died. Their crime? Protecting Jewish people.
I used to live in awful fear. I had horrible images of the worst things happening. But Corrie lived the worst. Her life experience and her words are an example for me to trust and not be afraid.
There is safety in Him....doesn't matter the situation. Doesn't matter how hopeless or awful things are.
Two years ago I had the opportunity to visit the Ten Boom home where Corrie grew up and where she learned to trust God in the big things and in the small.
There is definite safety in Him. Always. No matter what!

When I hear about the kinds of things she and her family endured, I realize many of my "problems" aren't so big after all. Nice post, Nikki. Hope you have a nice day!
I read Corrie's story years ago and I loved it. I have always admired her and the hardships she endured so bravely. Imagine all the heroes of faith we will actually get to meet someday! Of course nothing will compare with actually meeting our Lord face to face. Great post, Nikki, and have a wonderful weekend.

Much needed encouragement today, Nikki! I'm sorta going through some things that have me a bit (a lot?!) trapped in awful fear. But, always turning toward our awesome God, for He alone is our very present help!

Fear is indeed a prison. But so thankful for the lives of others who show a way out of that prison. It is actually a prison made of lies. Believing in the Truth, Jesus Christ, sets us free. What a legacy Corrie Ten Boom received from her parents, and she has passed that on to the world! And your life, dear friend, is also a legacy of freedom. I thank God for your life story that has been a blessing to so many, including me.

Nikki... I wonder if I will will ever trust fully... I read this about what Corrie dealt with (I have read her book) and I feel selfish... yet I still can't fully trust...
