Bridge

Linking up with Charlotte at  Spiritual Sunday and Laura at Brag on Fridays

"Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known." A.A. Milne

I've been going nuts with my computer. It ran out of memory and stopped functioning the way I needed. I bought a laptop ( I usually use a desktop), worked on transferring all my stuff and then decided I didn't want the laptop. In all my frustration I suddenly stopped and realized....peace...His peace....it's more important than anything else......and so this morning we're going back to exchange the computer....but with no more frustrations.

He is the bridge over troubled waters. He is the peace that is constant. He is more important than any computer.....or getting something right.....or any mistakes I might make.   When I stop and listen and hear His whisper.......I know.....everything's right with my world....no  more worries....Nothing can ever beat that.....

Like a bridge over troubled waters.......

Yes He is...and what a great illustration...I will never pass over a bridge again without remembering this...He holds us up through troubled waters, as the bridge also holds up our car allowing us to pass over.
Blessings and have a good weekend.

When we worry, Jesus said 'it won't add another day into our lives.' Thanks sis for reminding us to completely trust in Him & when we do, we will discover true peace& joy that comes only from God.Have a great weekend, remaining strong in His mighty power & oh yeah!... with a smile no matter what comes your way!

If anything can contend to make one upset the good old computer is one - just breathing and thinking about Jesus - slowing down 0 will do the trick. sandie

Yours is the second blog I've read today encouraging us to listen to His voice . . . His voice stills the troubled seas . . . "Peace, be still."

I do not like computer problems, they really bother me however I do like having a laptop. It is getting old and starting to run slower. Good luck with your purchase.

Most of us have a love/hate relationship with our computers. But what would we do without them? I can't imagine trying to be a writer without delete and the ability to move paragraphs around!

Ah, peace. God-given is the best!

Deep breaths...love the quotes and well, yes, HE centers us and allows us to breathe easy...deep breaths! I had to get a new desktop and my husband asked me if I wanted a laptop and it just doesn't suit me...

Nikki, I have always sung this song with God in mind. He is always so faithful to meet all my troubled waters - and He is always there to calm my storms.

Best of luck with the techno-frustrations.

But you are so right - HE is worth infinitely more, and HIS peace is the Rock that I stand upon.

GOD BLESS!

I hope and pray you have your new computer up and running soon. Thank the Lord for His Peace which passes all understanding and the wisdom to ask for it in those times we are being robbed of His Peace through circumstances in our lives. It is hard at times but He always sees us through.
Thank you for your honesty. You are such a Blessing Nikki.
Hugs, Dianne :)

Hi - I wonder if it will let me comment today. I tried last night, before going to bed, when reading your blog and listening to one of my favourite songs, was a great comfort, but it would not post for me.

God Bless and have a great week - Nita

I rarely use the words COMPUTER and PEACE in the same sentence. And I'm amazed that while the computer has given me opportunities to share God's word and study it, it also takes away much time I could use in other ways. Hoping you get your situation solved quickly!

Hope you solved your computer problems and found just what you need. Isn't it amazing that we have a personal God who even cares about helping us get the right computer?!!

Nikki, this post is literally a prescription for me. I relate very literally because it happens to be about a computer, but oh how I relate in a broader sense as well.

I just finished my morning Bible study and took a peek into blog land. Now, I'm going to just SIT here and enjoy a song which always makes me think of God.

I've spent many hours through the years being frustrated with computers.
I love the computer I have now. I always worked on PCs but I absolutely love my iMac.
