Spiritual Sunday . "We're in it Together"

Charlotte and Ginger host these awesome Spiritual Sundays. To join in post and at your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are...and what you can rise from......”  Maya Angelou

We saw Toy Story3 last week. My favourite part was near the end. The toys were thrown away and dumped in a heap of garbage being pushed towards the incinerator. The toys tried and tried to get free.....but couldn't.

The part I love - one toy stopped struggling.....He knew his end was near. He reached out a hand to another toy....who took it and he too stopped struggling. Then he turned and reached out his hand to another toy....and so on until all the toys were in a single line gripping each other's hands....prepared to face their doom together.

It was then they were saved. What struck me...was the way they reached out to each other......the way their eyes linked into their friend's....no words spoken...but they knew....each was saying...We're in this together.

Some of you guys are struggling with tough stuff. I want to reach a 'hand' out to you...to let you know you're not alone.....And many of you have reached out to me with incredible kindness......We're in this together!!!

To you guys fighting hard and needing a 'hand' of support.....and a touch from God.......We're in this together.

I will carry you...be your strength....and pull you through....Reach for me....and take my hand.....and we will pray and we will stand. We were never meant to walk this road alone....

I have believe right now that I'm not alone. Thank you for being there for me. I am struggling so much right now. I need God's touch so badly. Please continue to pray for me. I don't feel safe right now so I'm going to spend some time with a friend.

Awww shucks Sarah...you gave away the movie! (lol)
no, not really...I could not hear the song from Michael W. Smith.

Blessings dear Sarah...how touching and full is your heart. So glad that "we're all in this together". Your quote from Maya should uplift anyone feeling defeated as well as your own words of love! Nothing is too tough for God...but too many times our vision is clouded by "other junk" or barriers that the enemy uses to deter us. Praying with you for the links you gave...though I did not know them all, I went there & said a prayer. They don't know me but God knows each one of them and where they are at and we do need to support & strengthen one another and be a hand...

We need to be more like the TOYS! REACH OUT & touch even without a word spoken... may each one feel the connection to God & that we are not alone!

Miss ya'...I'm slowly getting back and catching up bit by bit... holding on to the One who holds me,

Love & hugs,
Peggy

I hope I find the time to watch that movie. Heard it was good! I loved the previous ones because my son was still little at that time and we enjoyed watching it with him. But who can't be a kid for a clean kind of movie?

Thank you for the reminder sister that we must be lending a hand among each other. To those needing that encouragement. Thank you for sharing those links [I know a couple] and I will lift them up in my prayers. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. God bless you always.

This post just did so much for me today dear blog friend.

You have put it so beautifully, we are all in this together.

Through blog posts - the ones we write, and the ones we comment on, a community is formed.

I am so glad you are in my world!

And that you are in mine, as well.

Someday we will meet face to face. But for now, heart to heart. And yes, we are in this life journey together.

Love
Lidj

This is a great post, Sarah and wonderful analogy for us all. We do need each other, some times more than others...but we are ALL in this together...what a comfort this was for me today.
Bless you....

Hello Sarah, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Toy Story yet I have seen the producer and the set on a documentary.
A feel much compassion in the scene you described about not struggling and reaching out. So often we struggle so much God can't help us because we get in the way..A lovely story. Bless you.

Thank you for this post! I had missed that part of the movie because my baby girl started crying. I will definitely have to watch it again and look for the specific part. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us!

Hi Sarah,

You are difanlty in this with me. I "feel" you holding your hand out to me many times with your compassion. I alwasy don't take it right away when you leave your encouraging messages. I hope that you have "felt" my hand of compassion as well.

Hugs and blessings,
Amanda
