"I just want to do God's will, and He's allowed me to go to the mountain. And I've looked over and I've seen the promise land."
                             Martin Luther King, Jr.

There was no way I could have known....when I struggled in all that darkness....that He had a plan.

I just found out my book won a TWG award and an honorable mention for the highest of their awards. I struggled so much to write....to tell the truth of what happened. Winning - it makes me think....He knew all along that I would tell.  I had to. It was His touch....the touch of His gentleness that made all the difference.

I'm grateful that He never gave up on me....that He didn't listen when I shook my fist in the air and dared Him to kill me. He waited...patiently...until I was ready....to let go....to stop hurting myself....to trust... that He had a plan....a purpose to use all that pain and trauma. He just wanted me to tell. I couldn't for a long time - but now - I know....when we're in the darkness....and there seems to be no way out.....and our prayers seem to be hitting the ceiling.....to stay strong....to hold tight...because we're moving mountains long before we know we can. There can be miracles when you believe.....

Spiritual Sunday "Hope"

thanks Charlotte and Ginger for hosting these Spiritual Sundays. To join in, post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

This week....I've spoken to alot of people who are struggling and hurting....broken from things they can't seem to get out from under: depression, discouragment, fighting addictions, dealing with cancer, divorce and kids pulling away....I remember - the streets, the drugs, the darkness...feeling like life wasn't worth living. I had no hope...but then He touched me....I don't know how or why.....but He did.... and all of a sudden that no hope went to Know Hope! Nothing else gave me the freedom....the joy....the peace that He did....nothing else worked like the gentle touch of His power. He is the hope living in me, the rock in whom I trust.....

Thankful Thursday

Today....I trust ...I know... He's there...in my corner...like He's been in everything...I know...He won't ever let me down...so I whisper thank you:

1. For His presence that's always with me.
2. For holding me when I'm scared and never letting go.
3. For never forcing me to go beyond where I'm able but waiting until I'm ready.
4. For His gentleness that always gives me assurance that things will work out ok.
5. For creating a safe place for me to fall....in Him.

Thankful Thursday

Thanks Sonya-Lee for hosting Thankful Thursdays. To participate post five things you're thankful for and then add your name at http://truth4thejourney.blogspot.com/

2009 has been an amazing year. So much has happened. The most amazing is I'm not afraid anymore. And the shame has been going. Today I'm so grateful for Jesus:

1. He is the hope living in me
2. He is the Light that took away all the darkness I lived under.

3. He redeemed my life when He rose from the dead
4. He comforted me when nothing else could
5. He showed me truth when I lived in lies and deception.

Happy New Year Guys. Stay Safe

Thankful Thursday "Friends"

It's time for Thankful Thursday. Thank you Sonya Lee for hosting this. Anyone wanting to participate, post five things you're thankful for and then add your name at http://truth4thejourney.blogspot.com/

I spent so many years alone....lost....living on the streets with no one who really cared what happened to me.  I 'm totally thankful for the people in my life today:

1. My closest and best  friend, Debbie who believes in me even when I don't believe in me and with whom I can share my heart...even the yucky stuff.
2. My kids who never let a day go by without hugging me and telling me I'm the best. I think they are the best. Because of them I want to live my best life.
3.My sister  - her and I were separated when  we were kids but when she moved back here from living overseas a couple of years ago, we've reunited and developed a bond between us that is incredibly tight.
4. Five co-workers who have become close buds and who have opened their hearts and lives to me and gently force me to open mine to them.
5. Awesome neighbours - we just moved here in June and people have been overwhelming wonderful to us -
