Spiritual Sunday "Nature".

Spiritual Sunday is hosted by two awesome women...Charlotte and Ginger. To join in post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

I love being out in nature. All week we've been hanging out in the woods, in the hills and today up north at the beach. Being outside...in His creation...I feel a sense of peace....an exhileration....a contentment that assures me He's got everything under control. If He could put the stars in  place and the sun and the flowers and position all the mountains and trees and water....then He can definitely take care of things in my world.

When I was fighting so hard to survive....there were times professionals got involved and pushed me to take tranqualizers. It will make you feel better...peaceful...contented...free. All it did was add to the pain...The pills created horrible side effects....and a need to take more pills just to not feel...to not think....to live in a state of numb....

Then one day....I felt His touch. I heard His whisper. He made the difference. And being outside in His creation...in nature...I experience what no amount of pills or drugs could ever do...I experience real peace....and contentment.....and freedom. I have felt the wind blow...whispering Your name.....How can I say....there is no God......

Spiritual Sunday . "When I Feel Afraid"

Thank you Charlotte and Ginger for hosting these Spiritual Sundays. To join in, post and add your name at  http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

"The Bible's words are our hope..." Billy Graham

Sometimes I feel down....or a bit lost. I've figured out though...if I pick up my Bible....and read...I start feeling better. I don't always know what I'm reading. It doesn't always make sense at the moment. But I look at it... sort of like taking medicine. I don't know what's in the ingrediants but there's something in it that always makes me feel better.. I think...there's nothing more powerful than His Word. When I feel afraid...when I think I've lost my way....still He's there right beside me.

Spiritual Sunday"Everywhere I go"

Thanks Charlotte and Ginger for hosting Spiritual Sundays. To join in post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

It used to be that everywhere I looked I saw only darkness and hopelesness. I craved  death and begged Him to kill me...to just let me go.

Now....I'm so grateful He didn't listen to me... and I'm so thankful for life.. for His touch...the touch of His gentleness....Now everywhere I look.... I see Him.....in the beauty of nature......in the faces of those I love.....in the faces of strangers I meet....in ordinary tasks.... in everything I see and touch and do.  My heart sings and I just want to shout ...Everywhere I go I see You!

Spiritual Sunday.

Thanks to Charlotte and Ginger for hosting Spiritual Sundays. To join in, post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
On those living in the land of the shadow of death,
A light has dawned.
You have shattered the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor."
                      Isaiah 9:2,4

It's funny what works to bring someone to freedom....and to Him. For me....it was the blood.
"After the hospital released me, Matt and Amy brought me back to the campsite. They encouraged me, telling me God wanted to do a special work in my life and I simply needed to trust Him. I didn't quite understand what they were saying, but I wanted to believe them.  I stayed quiet, listening as they spoke. The words to the catchy tunes we had sung in the van rolled over in my head, especially the one with the words, 'nothing but the blood of Jesus.' It made me think of the many times I had cut myself, desperate to see the deep red flow of blood. The blood reminded me of life....my life. Once I saw it, I knew I was still alive. In the song it said there was life in the blood. That impacted me. I understood that." (taken from In the Eye of Deception)

Broken and beautiful......This is the way You've chosen to save. This is the way You make all things new!

Thankful Thursday

I need to do this...I need to do thankful thurday. I should have done thankful wed. because I was struggling to say thank you yesterday,... I was too frustrated...and angry. It took me all day...until 5 p.m. to finally let it go....and give it to God.. I couldn't handle 'the stuff.' Funny how I know that He can but I carried it anyways and let it drag me further and further down until......

Today I am totally thankful for:

1. His love in spite of my behaviour
2. His strength when I just can't hold it together anymore
3. His forgiveness when I blow it.
4. His compassion when I'm hurting and in need of His gentle touch
5. His presence....for staying and loving me in spite of.....

Spiritual Sunday Freedom

To participate in Spiritual Sunday click http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/
Thank you Charlotte and Ginger for this opportunity for all of us to share our hearts.

I never knew when He touched me, freed me from the drugs - that He wanted to completely free me. I didn't know - I didn't understand the truth behind the pormise - "He who began a good work will complete it....."  I didn't trust - I doubted the power of His love - I didn't think He really meantt it - I struggled so long trying to figure it out myself, forcing myself to do what only He could really do. When I finally gave up,- finaly let go - I found out - He is faithful  - His word can be trusted ....
