Thankful Thursday Inch by Inch.

"We are formed by little scraps of wisdom." Umberto Eco

I used to visit this old Jamacian man every week when I worked in the inner city. Mr. Walters didn't know it then nor did I, but he taught me something that would stay with me even until today. A powerful little phrase, Inch by inch. That's it. Just a couple of words, that remind me nothing is impossible because Inch by Inch everything's a cinch. A simple phrase, but for me, a powerful one. Inch by inch I've learned I can do anything, overcome anything, become anything.

When I used to visit him, Mr. Walters always included those words in whatever he said to me. He said them so many times, they somehow slipped inside my heart and are still there today. I can still hear his raspy Jamaican drawl whispering inside me, Inch by Inch Girl, you do can do it. Inch by Inch, you can do anything.

Packed into those simple words - Keep going. Keep moving forward. Never give up.

Inch by inch. We can do anything we want.

Happy Thursday, Guys.

Oh I love this post and those words are so true.
Believe in ourselves, have faith and 'inch by inch' it can be done!

Hope your week has been a good one, and I hope this new month of March will be a blessed one for you and yours.

All the best Jan

Love that!! Inch by inch. So true and so encouraging. It's amazing when the right words get in how much further we can go because of them.
Congrats on the endorsements - plural :)
Love you sister!

This is such a great memory. I love the saying too. It reminds me of the old joke, "How do you eat an elephant?" The answer is "a bite at a time."

Your Mr. Walters sounds like a wise man! No, we must never give up. We can trust God. Another wonderful post filled with inspiration. Thanks for sharing, Nikki, and have a lovely weekend.

Blessings,

I remember that phrase, and it's well said. Yes, life is tough when we try to tackle the big stuff (or the little stuff!) all at one time. Inch by inch. So much better. I have a friend who used to say, "Be like an ant." They are tiny, but they never give up. They keep going forward...

GOD BLESS!

Nikki I love this reminder...as long as we keep moving and learning we can do anything. I remember hearing this phrase a lot when I was younger, I understood as I became older the importance of it, believing and knowing everything can change in time. Excellent post ♡♡♡
