Thankful Thursday - Words.

“There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner, wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic.” Diane Setterfield.

Words are incredibly powerful. It amazes me how they can tear a person down to nothing or lift them up and fill them with hope.  I love words. I love the sound and feel of them. And I love stringing them together to form stories, and even letters to my daughters and people I love.

Writing is a gift. It's been a way to have my voice. To speak what I couldn't say. To look at things that happened and see them for what they really were. On paper my mind explodes with the truth. Seeing them in print, reading them aloud, becomes a path for me to walk free.

And it's not just my words, but other people's as well. Their stories, their truth, their words impact my life. They give me courage and hope.

Words are power. They carry freedom. When I hear them, see them, read them, they get inside me and do their magic. They change me from the inside out. I always want to use my words to give hope....

Happy Thursday, Guys.

I have always loved words too, Nikki! I love adjectives and adverbs, bringing them altogether to send a message or write a story that makes someone feel special or to encourage. You are doing such a beautiful job of it yourself, encouraging and bringing joy to others here on your blog and out there in the world. The Lord bless you as you use your words to be a blessing to others.

Merry Christmas, my friend! May His peace and joy reign in your heart and your home during this beautiful season.

Blessings & hugs from PEI,
Sandi

I'm also a word lover. It's true that the pen is mightier than the sword. Words can harm others, but they can also heal them, delight them, and inform them. Great post! Happy Thursday to you!

Nikki, I love words too ... writing them gave me a voice and helped me to get over many of the struggles I have had... and having them written is a reminder that I got through things I never believed I could... I love reading your words xox

I also love words - to me they're like building blocks, enabling us to construct the most wonderful stories, testimonies, and memories. Of course, there is nothing better than The Word, our Savior Jesus, who was born to bring these words to our world - salvation, grace, forgiveness, redemption, hope, and love.

Merriest Christmas to you and yours, and GOD BLESS!
