Thankful Thursday

 “Sometimes I need
 only to stand
wherever I am
to be blessed.” Mary Oliver

The last couple of days nothing much has happened. Most days just unfolded into the next without fanfare or wild excitement.

I used to live on excitement. I needed some high to pump my life, make it worth living, but now, the calm, the quiet, the ordinary are the best. Grateful for,

-Peace. It's there inside my gut all the time and it doesn't matter what the days bring, I have a contentment, an inner knowing that everything is as it should be. It wasn't always that way. Very grateful for it.
-the woods - no matter what's going on, wandering around the woods never fails to soothe my fears or doubts or angst. There's no medicine as powerful.
-Birds - these free flying little feathered things make me soar inside. Just watching them makes me happy and grateful to be alive.
-flowers - the colours and smells and beauty - another humungo reason to smile.
-Mostly knowing I'm connected with Him for always. He's the prime reason I feel this peace inside. I am forever grateful for His peace that transcends everything else.

Happy Thursday, Guys!!!!

"...knowing I'm connected with Him for always."

You have expressed what I am most thankful for today. All the rest is just *icing on the cake*!

GOD BLESS!

Happy Thursday Nikki... I think a lot of us live on that excitement but we really need to live in the quiet moments, that is when you are given direction :)

I am finding myself more and more thankful for the exact kinds of things you mentioned, especially for the "connected to Him always" part. In this world of constant change and even more constant turmoil, it's nice to know that the most important thing is unchangeable and eternal.

Hi Nikki,
I have family members who live for excitement. I understand that but I revel in the peace and quiet when I can hear the birds singing and the leaves on the trees rustling in the breeze. I was always a nature lover but after I became His child, He magnified all of those things I used to enjoy before. He made all of nature seem more alive, the hues lovelier, and the sounds like music to my ears. He is after all the Master Painter and Chief Musician! Hope you and your family have a beautiful weekend.

Hugs & blessings,
Sandi

peace and contentment... not having to search for action or power trips... just that lovely feeling that everything is all right in your world. That is a foretaste of heaven, Nikki, and all the things you wrote in your post I love them too. Even if I live in the city, we have trees in our garden where birds live... there is so much beauty in our world. Thanks for always sharing your peaceful thoughts.

Nikki
I just came in from my back yard, the birds were singing and the flowers blooming and I was completely happy.
It's the little things that bring the most joy, I so relate to your post.
God is good to me.

Thanks for sharing ...

Nature has a way of soothing us, yes. I believe it's God's earthly medicine for us. I wish families got outdoors more.

Have a blessed week, my friend.

Wonderful post, Nikki. I agree--a quiet, peaceful day when I can spend some time in nature is the absolute best for me. Hope you have a nice week!

I love all those peace-inducers, too, but especially Jesus inside. Thanks for sharing!
