Thankful Thursday

Everything we experience is a gift, a present we should cherish and pass on to those we love.” Alice Sommer

The oldest holocaust survivor in the world, Alice Sommer died a couple of days ago. She was 110. Alice lived life with incredible optimism and harboured no hatred for those who held her and her young son prisoner in a concentration camp. "I've had such a wonderful life. I know about the bad, but I look at the good things."

She often told people she was thankful for life, for surviving, for God, for seeing the sun, and for a smile from someone. She was just thankful for everything.

This incredible woman is my example on how to live my best life. Be thankful for everything. So today....a few things I'm thankful for.....

-the brilliance of the sun
-the sweet laughter of my girls
-hugs from a friend
-smiles from a stranger
-faith that anchors me.

Have an awesome day, Guys!

We can experience hardship in life, but what matters the most is how we face it. She did the right thing. An inspiration.

As we greet each day, we should all say, "thank you God for allowing me to see another beautiful day". Regardless of whether the day is cloudy or full of sunshine, we should simply be thankful and grateful to be able to see it. Awesome post and words to live by. Love you bunches

I am amazed at people who held on to their faith in the middle of the Holocaust. Corrie Ten Boom's story comes to mind. But, when you really think about it - how could they not? For if we don't have Him, we have nothing - He supersedes good, bad...and the ugly.

GOD BLESS!

Awe Nikki... isn't it wonderful to see someone that dealt with all that tragedy rise above it and be so kind and loving.

I have really started my gratitude journal... it has helped to change things around a little, it is always good to remember the blessings we have in our lives.

Have a lovely weekend ahead <3

She sounds amazing and what a wonderful outlook she had on life after living through something so horrific.

What a shining example she was! I have a sign sitting on my mantle here that says, "In everything give thanks" that was made for me by a friend of mine. It serves as a good reminder to me when I get down. :) Have a great weekend, Nikki!

Oh my gosh what a terrific story. A lot like Corrie Ten Boom. I love stories like that and I am keeping her quote! Thank you sweet friend.

I am going to read more about her. I want to hear more of her story! What an inspiration to those of us who grouse about such things as septic tanks.

Not to mention anybody specifically, but...
