Thankful Thursday

"Although the world is full of suffering it is also full of the overcoming of it." Helen Keller

Watching the news this week hit home that evil really does exist in the heart of some very deranged people. Some people though....don't give up. They refuse to. Instead they hang on and fight....sometimes for years with no indication of ever getting free......yet they keep holding on and  somehow they do it.....they overcome.
This week I'm thankful for.....

-The bravery of the women in Cleveland to fight for their freedom and realize it.
-The neighbour who heard Amanda's cry for help.....and got involved. He is a total hero.
-People everywhere who care....in big ways and small and aren't afraid to get involved
-My oldest is part of Jr. Achievement. Last night we were at the awards night. I"m grateful for all the dedicated people volunteering their time and expertise to inspire kids to dream big.
-Mostly for the touch of His gentleness. It's what kept me holding on....and making it to side of freedom.

The story of the women in Cleveland this week has been amazing. It's so hard to believe that went on for ten years without anyone finding out. Even more amazing is that they were able to escape and that a kind neighbor was there at the right time to help them. Great post!

Wasn't that the most amazing story - after ten years. I wonder how they are mentally.

And you are so right - there are so very many wonderful people out there - we need to hear more about them.

I believe good overcomes evil. I can't imagine what they endured for ten years. So thankful that their neighbor heard her.

It is amazing that the neighbor heard them. I wonder if the old neighbors every suspected something. I find it crazy that they could hold them for 10 years. My heart goes out to them and the adjustments that they will be faced with after such a traumatic experience.

It is good that there is still goodness in the midst of darkness.

Oh how I love the last line of this thankful Thursday post. Amen to that.

I feel the same about the events this week. I have prayed and will pray that God will wipe away every tear from their eyes and make them whole as well as free. Those poor, precious women.., It really breaks my heart when I hear things.

Beautiful...simply beautiful.

And yes, I don't think often enough about the gentleness of God. The One who holds the universe in His hands, reaches down to me gently, with kindness in His touch.

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

GOD BLESS!
