Remember

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at  Faith Filled Fridays

“I went to sleep with gum in my mouth
And now there's gum in my hair
And when I got out of bed this morning, I tripped on the skateboard
And by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running
And I could tell......it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.” Judith Viorst

Life happens and sometimes days turn out yuck. Everything that can go wrong - does. I used to think it was just me that got those horrible daysbut that's not true. Everyone goes through them.

The good thing - they don't lastEventually things turn around and the bad flips back to good again.

Even when things drag on for a long time....and it seems that nothing will be good again.....now I stop and remember that 'Someone cares for me and summer follows winter and....
Sunshine follows raid and life can come again.

Some seasons seem longer and harder and sadder than others...like every day is a push, but I find when I Praise the LORD any way...when I remind myself WHO HE IS...it lightens my load and ushers in His presence! That's what I'm going to do today! And I'll lift you up to Him in prayer!
Love ya sister! Remember all He's already done for us :) He'll do it again!
Love ya

This is beautiful Nikki, a great reminder that bad things don't last forever... we just have to keep the faith.

I love the song - never heard it before. It's a song I really needed to hear. You know Nikki there are many difficult things going on in my life that I can't share openly in this medium. Often wish we lived close enough to really have a talk over coffee or while walking in the woods... your life has been such an inspiration to me. A new car... 2014 model... keyless... and $11 less insurance... wow! Surely it's a God thing. And you know what, it's a small thing for God to do. Thanks for sharing your life with me...with us.

Love
Lidia

It's true. We all do have those days or even stretches of days when nothing seems to go right, but the good does come around again if we can just remember that. Lovely post.

My family and I went to a college's Open House and though the dark clouds loomed, it felt so good when the sun came out. Now that I read your post, I think those bad things help us appreciate the good ones more and more...And it's good to know, like what you said, they don't last...Thank God!

We do seem to go through seasons. I like the good seasons best. But character is built during the hard times. And God seems so near.

Is that quote from the book about Alexander and his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day? Sometimes I feel like that, too.

However, I am trying to learn the lesson found in Psalm 118:24:

"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (I might add - NO MATTER WHAT!!)

Amen.

GOD BLESS!

Oh I bought that book for my son years ago...she also has books for adults about getting older...I just checked them out.

Yes it doesn't stay for ever...thank God, because I am in the middle of one of those very bad seasons, and I know it will come to end and His grace is sufficient.
