Thankful Thursday

Linking with Cami at Thankful Thursday

“Courage: the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.” Maya Angelou

This week I've been learning tough lessons....resisting reacting when someone has done something so wrong...keeping quiet when everything in me wants to fight back....doing nothing & letting my lawyers work their magic. My girls have been learning lessons too & even some of my friends. I discovered it takes courage to stand up and do the right thing.... I'm grateful for..

- A teen who inspires me. My 16 year old is going to We Day...a rally of teens who want to make positive impacts in the world. Her goals have changed....making a difference for others holds a big appeal. I applaud her courage to go after what her heart wants.
-My youngest....she caved into peer pressure, went to a friend's home where she's not allowed b/c the parents do drugs. In tears she told me she didn't know how to say no. We had a great talk about courage and doing the right thing and her willingness to try.
-Awesome support. The man who took my writing is selling it with the help of his church. I've wanted to fight back...show them they're in the wrong...but I'm learning it's more powerful to stay quiet, to pray, trust - let God bring justice. Hard to do nothing, but the support I've received is incredible.
-Open doors....I'm learning about prison culture...the downside...the gangs..the bullying...the intimidation that goes on inside for someone wanting to go straight...it requires so much courage on their part. I'm grateful for the open door that allows me to go inside  to give support and hope.
-Mostly I'm grateful that He fights all my battles...big ones and small. I can totally trust Him. He knows all sides of a thing & the best part....He's got it all under control....

Your strength has been amazing. I don't know if I could do that when someone deceived you so deeply.
I'm glad your daughter shared her peer pressure with you. It can be so hard to say no!

You will surely look back following your legal matters and be so proud of yourself for conducting yourself with integrity and trust in our legal system. Really, I feel positive for you and your outcome. Inmates who make a decision to turn their life around certainly do so at a risk, while incarcerated, and when they are released. We (society and the system) "expect" this of them. Its just not that easy and CLEARLY incarceration is not about rehavilitation. The men I meet are fighting an uphill battle. They only learned more hate and anger. . And finding work for a felon,, well,, you know. So the temptation to seek crime and/or dealing drugs again is such an obvious temptation - easy fast good money. Its such a battle. They need so so so much encouragement!!

keep it up Sarah. God is with you.
Fight for your right with God. The one who stole your work will take the consequences one day.

I always have a problem - I know HE is in control, but why does HE allow what he does allow. I guess one day we will know or not care. I see some wonderful growth in you girl.

Open doors sounds interesting and going in to the prison requires courage. Courage is sometimes being scared but doing something anyway. So standing up is courageous even if we are scared while doing so. However It can be hard to be courageous. The man who is trying to sell your work will trip himself up, sometimes it is giving someone enough rope to trip themselves up-you just cannot believe some people the things they will do-shocking. I think you are indeed being courageous-good for you. Blessings.

I love the story of Jehoshaphat when his army won the battle by praise and worship - and after the battle was won that way, they got all the spoils. You will surely get the spoils after this battle is won, because truly the victory is already won by Jesus on the cross. Satan is a coward, he knows he is defeated. And that man and his wife, they are cowards too, wanting to promote themselves at another person's expense. I admire your courage and strength. And cheer you on. Praise God for the lawyers. I pray they will receive divine strategies and battle plans.

Courage...I lay my own battle at His feet...I take my hands off of trying to correct a wrong, and allow Him to be my refuge....when we come to that peace we begin to walk in the victory He has already won...enjoy the victory

My mom always said, life is hard, pray harder! I live by it! The world is filled with so much evil and we have to be constantly on guard. I pray for the younger generation. The only hope is in God's hands!
