Thankful Thursday

Linking with Cami at Thankful Thursday

“Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.”  Madeleine L'Engle

My oldest can sit for hours creating some cute little thing out of bits and pieces of nothing. She twists and shapes nothing scraps into something that results in an end product that's amazing, unique and incredible. And the neat thing....she's over the moon happy while she's busy creating or when she's showing off her finished product.

Her enthusiasm spills over and makes me wish that I could make even a little of what she can. I don't have her patience or ability...but something I can do....is write. I think we're all meant to do some kind of creative thing. Thankful this week for.....

-the pleasure and peace I feel when I'm writing and creating stories. I'm proud that a number of them have won or shortlisted in contests.
-Had fun setting up a facebook page the other day. The focus is on writing. Anyone wanting to check it out... click on the sidebar Facebook Write2Empower or go to www.facebook.com/Write2Empower.
-Reviews and edits for my new completed novel Dancing Softly have been coming in and they've been great. A few people told me I need to write a sequel...I'm not sure about that but I can't wait for this book to be in print.  And the neat thing....I already have people wanting a copy. yeahhh.
-Devouring writing books that pump me with enthusiasm to go for it and just write...Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott is my absolute favorite.
-Inspiration that comes from the best Creator ever...Being out  anywhere in nature....I feel the awesome creative power behind the mountains..lakes.... flowers...trees...animals and people - it takes my breath away and makes me feel totally alive. Now that's what I call the best end result of any creation!!!

Good morning Nikki,
I find it so cool and amazing how our Creator implanted a little of His creative Spirit inside each of us. We are made in His image so I guess it shouldn't be too surprising and yet...I'm just little old me and He sees fit to do this! We serve an awesome God! Have a beautiful day, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi

That's neat that your daughter is patient and talented in creating...I pray someday, she will be used for His glory like how your talent for writing is being used now to encourage others and point them to His love and grace...Ahhh...We don't have to go that far, do we? His blessings abound that it is the right response to just keep thanking His goodness. He is awesome! God bless sister and keep writing! For Him!

Hi Sarah,
I am very happy for you, dear friend. You were the first person who joined my blogs. I am truly honoured that an Author with your caliber and amazing talents is in front of my eyes...
It's truly amazing all things you write, things that you have experienced and tell your audience. The impact you make when you write a title that says it all, and special words you use in every paragraph. I just can't wait to read one of your books. When I'll get my feet back home to the States, I'll buy one of your books, Sarah. I was also a victim of domestic violence, and I am a survivor. I make plans to tell my story in the near future, if that is God's will. The world will be amazed at the things I am going to tell one day, with the help of God, of course. The Lord rescued me, and He is an amazing God.
Praise the Lord at all times!!
Thank you, Sarah for visiting my sites and offering your wise comments there!!
God bless you, Sarah, and those you love, my friend!!
Have a blessed day!!
Warm Hugs and Blessings,
Poet Starry.

Well. That 63 degrees was just a fluke, happening at 4am. Right now at 2:30 in the afternoon, it is 100 degrees. And no amount of deoderent will make me approachable.

I am not very creative either. I find tranquility in running, writing and sitting with a glass of wine looking at the horizon.

I admire people like you who can write stories and that is God's gift. I wish I can too. But, I am happy with writing post for my blog. That is God's gift too. So, good luck and nice knowing you!

It's so great that you and your daughter embrace your own individual creativity. I've been a little rusty in that area lately, I really hope to light a fire under myself and get back into the things I love. Thanks for the inspiration! :)
