Worth Saving

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday &Wendy at Sunday Linkup &  Laura at Beholding Glory

"We're all human, aren't we? Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving.” J.K. Rowling

Everyday on the news....there's another story of a murder, rape or assault. Some person deciding that someone's life has no worth...and that they can do whatever they like to hurt or destroy another human being. The incidents aren't isolated...they've become common....the norm.

It makes me wonder what value a human life really has. Falling out of love with someone.....wanting money.....having a disagreement over some dumb thing...using a child to satisfy needs.....A life seems so worthless.

Sometimes I think about the people caught in those situations...fighting to survive them.....the fear they must feel....and the despair.....
Everyone has the right to a good life.....Everyone's life is worth saving.....and even more.....

Everyone needs compassion...a love that's never ending....

Amen... everyone's life is worth saving.

Thank you for linking up with Scripture Sunday and highlighting such. Have a blessed weekend Sarah.

Nikki your post rings loud and clear. We are all worthy whether we feel it or not! Blessings my dear.

Goodness, your first paragraph just grabbed!
How did we (OK, I'm should say "me") allow these incidents to become "the norm." Even our evening news or daily paper rarely gives a mention ... unless the deceased is a BMOC or lives in the "right" part of town.
Yours is a great call to recognize everyONE's worth!

Life has indeed gotten very cheap lately. And it is always save your own skin and forget about others. But each one of us is just as important as another. A whole lot of the crime has to do with drugs. Something we hardly ever saw before the sixties. The Age Of Aquarius sure didn't last long, did it?

I love that song and would love to click and listen this morning. My computer gets all cranky when I click from posts these days so I'll just sing out myself instead.

Savior... he can move the mountains... our God is might to save. He is mighty to save...

Can you hear me? In my head, I sound just like Michael W. Smith.

sad to say, many people are victim of the crimes. I feel so helpless too, but I just try to ease the pain of those that God sends into my path and pray for strenght from God.

Most of the time, I don't even watch the daily news as most of them are sad. Lots are evil. But I pray that the Lord will revive the heart of His people. Stay strong sister!

Hi Sarah,

You are so right. The news stories we hear each day are absolutely awful. My heart breaks each time I hear of a child kidnapped, raped, etc.., etc. Everyone does need compassion, a love that's never failing, and we'll only find this in Jesus. Jesus can't come fast enough.

I love this song. We sing this often at my church!

Blessings,
Judy

A life that is worth saving, and a life that is worth dying for... that's you and me. And that's really what the Cross is all about. God our Father knew the value of what He created!

I love the way you presented the current issues we are facing in our world today...

and this song, Nikki, it will always be one of my favorites. I listen to it almost everyday!

Have you ever heard of this song by Lincoln Brewster? It talks about showing compassion to children and other marginalized people in society today. For percussion effects, he used the sonogram results of his unborn child. Really anointed and powerful! Here's the YouTube link:

May God continue to empower your words as you write and speak, dear Nikki...

Much love

Praise God that He came to seek and save that which was lost. He values each like, and may we learn to see and to love with His compassion.
Thanks for the thought-provoking post.
God bless,
Laurie

So true, both that life has become progressively less valued and that it has immeasurable value.
Each human being is knit together in his/her mother's womb by God the Creator. He knows each of us intimately, and we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Since God cares so much to take a personal interest in each of His creations, we need to do the same. It is a great sin when we do not.

Yes! Such a great message to share, Nikki. Every life is made in the image of God, and needs to be treated as such. Oh how we must hurt the heart of God when we tear at each other in big and small ways. So glad he is indeed mighty to save!

I just saw a sad story on Dateline about this very thing. Some people just don't value life, I guess. I'm always stunned when I hear of a man killing his wife because he wanted out of the marriage. They usually get caught and spend the rest of their lives in prison. What was it all for? Money? Such a shame and a travesty...

Well said, Nikki. Evil runs rampant on Earth. I still believe that good will triumph over evil.

Can't wait until He comes.

This is so true. Everyone needs compassion. Everyone is worth saving. We need to do everything we can do to make life better for someone. I'm so glad I know the end of the story. Good wins and evil loses. I'm so looking forward to that day.
Blessings,
Charlotte

A great post, Nikki. Yes, every life is worth saving. And we have no greater proof than a Savior who died on a cross to save sinners...

May we dedicate ourselves to telling others about His great Rescue!

GOD BLESS!
