Happy Day

Linking up with Charlotte and Ginger at Spiritual Sunday

"Sometimes I need only to stand wherever I am to be blessed." Mary Oliver

Most days are pretty typical....nothing major happens...just everyday kind of stuff....no biggies....no extraordinary 'kapow' kind of things.

But it's those normal daily moments......like when the kids clean the dishes without being asked.....or going for a hike in the hills and spotting a blueheron in flight......or a friend calling to say they care.  Those things are the best.

I used to feel restless....always needing to keep moving. I used to feel that life had no purpose....and me...no value. Now... because of His peace....and the touch of His gentleness on my life......I can stand wherever I am and feel amazingly happy and 'blessed.'

Everyday is another day to kick back, take in a breathe, trust that He's got a plan and live my best life.

Things change...people change....but He never does. It doesn't matter what happens...what the day has in it....because He's there.....in my corner.....now.....and for always.

His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me.......

You said: I used to feel restless....always needing to keep moving. I used to feel that life had no purpose....and me...no value. Now... because of His peace....and the touch of His gentleness on my life......I can stand wherever I am and feel amazingly happy and 'blessed.'............... Oh how I can relate to that, for it is a complete description of me....learning to be still and let God be God, learning to be quite all has been a difficult journey for me but an "eye of understanding opening moments" for me...He is faithful to reach down deep inside of us and bring to the surface a truth of the "moment" of 'not being still" and why !!! Enjoyed your post this a.m.

Hi, I too can relate to this post. Regarding the "restlessness" inside me. Yet, just reading your beautiful, gentle words, I could feel HIS peace and yours come through loud and clear. Simply stated but oh so profound! Thank you for sharing. Blessings,
Lynn

I love that song, but unfortunately I always associate it with the old cop show Baretta, because that was the theme song!

I was thinking this morning about how frail we human beings are, uncommitted and flaky but how the Lord is always the same, so powerful, loving and steadfast!

I wrote something very similar. Spirit leading in honoring the everyday. Love the picture of the girl on the top, so went with the post.

Those small, daily moments really are the best.

God's peace is such a blessing, and knowing that He has a plan brings so much peace.

Yes and Amen...and this very song has been playing in my head recently. Sometimes all that is needed is to stand...isn't that so true, and He does the rest.

Just beautiful, sister.

"Things change...people change....but He never does."

This ending quote is SO true, and yet, I need to be more grateful for it, and realize that He (the Lord) is always there for me.

You are such a beautiful Writer, Nikki. :)

I absolutely love the quote on your post..."Sometimes I need only to stand wherever I am to be blessed." Mary Oliver it seems we are all so busy, that we don't take the time to appreciate His blessings, even the small ones that surround us on any given day. Love the song too.

Beautiful post and so true of me also- God is giving that peace and continually surprises me with what the day will hold. Today we went for a day trip in the mountains and ended up playing search and rescue to someone who was lost hiking. It was amazing!

be blessed
