Promise

Linking up with Charlotte and Ginger who host Spiritual Sunday

"God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for tears, and light for the way." Unknown

So many things happen that I don't understand. Bad things to good people. People I care about who lose their fight to cancer or fall so low they can't see any way back up....

Sometimes it seems....He doesn't care anymore....He's not listening. Sometimes I've felt like I was on my own....struggling by myself. But then I remember.....He promised.

Even those times I can't feel Him......I have His promises...that are an anchor......to hold onto....that give me hope. Because I remember what He did....how He changed everything. And somewhere in my mind I know....He really is there...in my corner...running with me.....through the good stuff and the not so good stuff.....He promised.....And I believe.

This is the promise......I made to you..

I have so often felt the same way and then I stop and picture Christ on the cross and, yes, the promises He has given me. And He is faithful.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for sharing this reminder! God is ever faithful; His grace really is sufficient.

Like you, I've also had moments when it seemed like I have to ask, "Where are you Lord?" But even if there is no reply, I'm learning He is ever faithful. I won't give up because he hasn't given up on me.

Blessings and peace.

Hi Sarah,
I'm leaning on the promises, too. Even when it seems the darkest. :) Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog.

This is a beautiful Saturday post! Like you, I have been and am going through the cancer thing with family and close friends, maybe we will understand further on, as the song says. Your song is very pretty, the female lead singer's voice sounds just a bit like Dolly Parton.

I have struggled so much over the last two years wondering why God allows certain things. If you're interested, my pastor (Miles McPhearson of the Rock Church in San Diego) is starting a 6 week series tomorrow called Why Do Bad Things Happen? I can't wait to tune in and find out what he's going to say! Here's the trailer: http://vimeo.com/24964150

I am so thankful that God keeps his promises!

I have felt the same way so many times. There are things that just don't make sense in my finite little mind but then I remember, He promised!

Oh Sarah, Don't we all feel like that at times. Its a good thing God isn't like us. He is always there and never sleeps. I have been broken so much these past few months, but I know in my heart, I or circumstances are the reason, not God. HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH. hOW COULD HE NOT??
So strange, my puter went from lower case before I noticed...maybe God wants you to really know something.. xxxxxx

Sarah, it is true that we all wonder sometimes why bad things happen to good people or why circumstances are what they are. We just need to keep trusting that He is always with us and that His ways are so much higher than our ways or our human thoughts.
Thank you for the encouragement as we all go through those times of struggle.
Blessings,
Janis

Love your blog.))

I now spend a survey of bloggers with such questions.
1. Why did you create a blog?
2. For whom you taking him? Want to be popular?
3. How long will it keep going?
