Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasures

"If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough." Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey.....she made a huge impact on the lives of so many around the globe including my own. She connected with people rich and poor, known and unknown....not afraid to be be open about her own life.....using her pain.....her struggles to help others in theirs. And coming from where she did.....poverty, sexually abused, feeling alone, unloved.....it made me think.....if she can make such an impact.....anyone of us can. This week I'm thankful for....

-living in a country where women have the right to speak up and follow whatever dreams they have.
-role models like Oprah and many others around the globe and in my community who shine hope and grace and faith
-hope .....something I didn't always have but now is always there empowering me to never give up and to always move towards where my heart pulls.
-the many oportunites available in my town, in my city, in my country that I can utilize and which help me develop into being my best.....
-the love I feel from family and friends and mostly.....His love that always gives me wings to fly

We are so blessed to have the rights and our freedom in our country. I thank our soldiers for that freedom. I count you as a woman that is making a difference in our world today.

Oprah's last show was good. She has given so much to people. I love how she has healed from all of her past pains, and I love that she shared all that she has learned from the past 25 years.

I admit that there were times I did not like her and thought she had placed herself up on a pedastal. I am glad that I started watching her show again and that I have total respect for her.

I will miss Oprah. What made me sad it that 25 years went by so fast, her show and my life both. Yes we are blessed to live is this country!

Sarah,
What a great affirmation list and yeah, as I watched the last of Oprah as we know her, I marvel at the impact ths has had on millions of lives and no one could have done that but her; coming from the journey she has traveled; abuse, poverty, struggles and her faith in God.
She is such a role model!

I, too, am so grateful that I live in a country where women are valued, and the sky is the limit for us.

At the end Oprah showed a picture of a little girl in front of a small poorer home - and she said - "she never dreamed anything like what happened to her could happen when she was that little girl in the picture". "It had to be devine intervention" - for you too!

Did you see her three last shows? Well, she has her own network now, so she will be around at least!
