Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle and some amazing  people at Simple Pleasures

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, it empties today
of its strength." Corrie Ten Boom

Worry....just another word for fear.  Someone once told me faith is the opposite of fear.....and that faith and fear are like negative and positive magnets. If you try to bring them together...you can't. They repel each other. No matter how hard you try....they keep pushing in opposite directions.

I've been worried about something...driving myself nuts....feeling the pressure build..going over and over in my head how to resolve this thing in a way that makes sense.

I finally went running on the trails. There....outside....in nature...it hit me....trust....let go...know He's in my corner...running with me. The pressure started to release it's hold....Peace...calm.... Gratitude. I'm grateful for:

-His promise to always be in my corner. Knowing I'm not in this alone anymore helps big time....
-His gentle whisper that encourages...comforts...calms.
-His wisdom that is so much better than my puny limited one...when I let go....perfect answers seem to fall into place.
-His buddies.....my friends....who remind and encourage me to stop....wait....trust.
-For all of you....b/c when I read your posts...your insights...your struggles....I find strength for mine.

You are so right about how much strength we get from other bloggers and I feel they also are blessings from God. To trust and let God handle things is hard because it's not in my nature. I pray to trust more.

Hi Sarah,
When I spend time with Him, the fear is released, too. I am thankful for your sharing and always pointing to the one who walks beside us.

Blessings,
Tammy

I like your analogy illustrating the difference between faith and fear. And I love your list, your letting go and letting God take that burden from you. Just wonderful!

God is so good and faithful. So many times I hear Him when I am out in nature. Yes battling faith or fear, I understand that one, I had that fight yesterday.
Thanks for sharing and encouraging us all to walk in faith...the evidence of things not seen.

I too receive such strength, inspiration, and encouragement in blogsphere.

Passing by real quick sister to drop a warm hello and prayer as well. Busy...as my son started tennis matches at school.

I remember our pastor saying that when we worry, it's not good because that means we don't completely trust in the Lord. We must remember that truly nothing is bigger for the Lord to handle!

You're a blessing to me and I always keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Love and God bless!

This is a great post to remind us all and it's amazing how taking a walk, running, anything that motivates our body to move....can release stress - and when we are aware of The Lord being right there along side us, in those moments...not only is our physical stress release but our spiritual awareness is increased ♥

May He truly guide you, with a clarity like no other as you confront what's ahead.

I know when I start worrying...If I can get to the "quiet" place with the LORD, and listen intently...He whispers..TRUST ME...Let go...surrender that thing to me.
You encourage me..to keep on.
Thankful for you.

I love the quote from Corrie Ten Boom. She must have known that in deep suffering. Keep trusting and thank you for encouraging me to keep trusting too.

Sarah,
You went running the trail and heard Him - I used to garden and that's when He whispered to me. Lovely to know He cares for us so much.

For me - "when I let go....perfect answers seem to fall into place" - that really hit home! You are so right. If we can just relinquish control to the one who KNOWS what's best for us, we can live out his perfect plan for our lives.

Thanks, as always, for your inspiring words!

Hope you have a blessed weekend!
