Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasures. Thanks Dayle for hosting this awesome weekly blog sharing. I love reading what makes others happy.
I did it guys...I gave my speech at Toastmasters. It felt like my heart was going to burst right out of my chest...but I did it. I didn't run.....I stayed present. This week....I'm thankful for:
-standing up and speaking in spite of the fear. As much as I felt like drifting I stayed present. I didn't run.
-having great support from people at toastmasters. As hard as it was to maintain eye contact especially after I finished speaking....I tried hard not to look away as people came to talk to me. They told me my story was powerful and they're glad I'm there b/c I have a story that needs to be told.
-enrolling in a writing course. It excites me to write.....I know this course will help me define my writing and become more focused.
-connecting with an amazing person who reached out to help me with a problem I didn't know how to solve. She not only went to bat for me but she went over and above what I needed and promised to be available anytime I need her help.
-having Him in my corner. He's my anchor....what I hold onto when I'm afraid....He gives me the courage and strength to push forward....and live my best life.

Well, how do you feel about the whole speech experience now?? Do you think you will do more speaking? How did your nerves hold out? You ROCK!!! I know you did a great job and people were getting so much from it!!! Congradulations, that's one big hurdle you are finally over.
Congratulations to you...I am standing and applauding, what an accomplishment, one I haven't tried.
Your thanks are wonderful. A writing class, I so want to do that, now why am I putting it off..well I guess some fear there.

Awesome! So proud of you. Anxious to see how you enjoy your writing class. I used to teach and always hoped my students got something out of it. :)
Hurray for you!! You should be so proud of yourself!
Such a rich list of things to be thankful for. I have thought about joining toastmasters. I hate speaking in public. I think it might help me. Anyway . . . blessings to you.
I am so proud of you. We use to have open mic time at church. Our pastor would always say if your heart is beating really hard God is wanting you to share!
I'm so very happy for you to excel in your speaking. It helps when you are the topic. I hate to speak to a large crowd, but if I know my subject matter then it is not a problem.
You have so much to share with people everywhere. Way to go!
Well done! Good luck with the writing.
