Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasure

"I went to sleep with gum in my mouth and now there's gum in my hair and when I got out of bed this morning I tripped on the skateboard and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day." Judith Viorst

Tuesday was one of those days...when everything that could go wrong....did. It started out when I banged into a cement step and broke my toe. From there everything went downhill. I felt like I was on roller blades sliding down a steep incline. And there was no way to stop it.

Just when I got over one horrible thing....and started to breathe...BOOM! Something else awful happened.

The one thing I was grateful for by 7 p.m....it was soon time to go to bed. ☺
I'm also grateful for......
-not breaking a leg or arm or anything major.
-the comfort and support of an incredible family
-knowing this can't happen two days in a row. Really thankful that Wed. was way better.
-His support....Wed. morning I prayed...asked Him to take over. Since then...everything started coming together again.
-Prayer...it's a hotline to the One who is never busy....and who is always ready to step up and help. He can figure out ways that are so much better than I could ever think of....and when He's on board.....I know.....nothing is going to happen that He and I together can't handle.

Sarah you can make a bad day even turn out pretty good with your grateful list. I am sorry for your broken toe and other unmentioned things that followed. The Prayer Hotline is never busy! Amen! Love your willingness to have Him take over. May the peace of God continue to surround and protect you dear one. Blessings.

Sorry to hear you had 'one of those day'. Aren't we blessed to have Him to turn to, who is in control and we no longer need to try to be.

Thank God....He's only a prayer away. That He hears us when we call! That He gives us strength to keep going...when every thing is on a down hill slide. May your toe heal quickly, and the rest of your week be victorious thru Christ!! Our Mountain moving God!
Love ya,
Julie

I'm sorry you had a bad day, but the beautiful thing was you see good all around you no matter what is happening. You are helping so many people you will only know when you get to heaven those you helped pull through. My you have a good day today and may God just poor down His love all over you. Hugs to a very special person! I am so sorry about your toe!

Yesterday was that kinda day around here, although it didn't happen to me, many bad things did happen at school. It certainly seems that days beginning with negativity only continue in that manner as the hours dwindle away. Sure hope your Thursday is a good one. Best wishes, Tammy

Sara, I'm choosing "prayer" as my favorite today. To have such a privilege, is certainly a simple pleasure, but also a high honor. Knowing we can communicate one-on-one with our Creator just blows my mind.

Always a joy to see you at Simple Pleasures.

So true -- nothing is given to us that we cannot handle with Him! Hope your toe feels better soon!

You managed to take a terrible horrible no good very bad day and turn it into thankfulness and praise. AWESOME. This might be your best SP post ever.

I love your attitude, Sarah!

My favorite on your list was the ability to pray to the one who is never busy.

Oh, I'm sorry about your toe! I've had days like this. I am so clumsy that I had to go to the E.R. from an injury putting on my underpants. The doctors all had a good laugh at that one! The good part is when the day is over and you can go to bed!!
