Spiritual Sunday "Promiise"

Charlotte and Ginger host these neat Spiritual Sundays. To join in post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

God's promises are like the stars; the darker the night the brighter they shine.  ~David Nicholas

I'm getting  it. I'm understanding it now....it doesn't matter what happens.....or how bad things become...all the tough stuff....the disappointments...the dark places....the emptiness at times - His promises trump it all. And the neat thing....He's there...in our corner....holding on...never letting go....running with us. I didn't get that....really get it. I know it now. And knowing that....makes me stand strong...gives me a courage to not buckle and to trust that somehow things will turn out ok....maybe even better than ok.

He didn't promise that eveything would be perfect. What He did promise is

strength for this day....light on our way, truth when we need it, help from above, undying friendship and undying love.

Amen, much truth spoken here sis. I love you.

I get it too, but sometimes I need to remind myself I get it...does that make sense? Sometimes it seems too big to grasp. Sometimes His promises are hard for me to feel, but then I think of this verse...
2 Corinthians 5
"The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what’s ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we’ll never settle for less."
That litlle taste of heaven has me holding fast to His promises.

Funny how we have similar posts this week...not coincidence, I'm certain! LOVE this: "gives me a courage to not buckle and to trust that somehow things will turn out ok....maybe even better than ok." By trusting Him, even when I say "I don't see what good could POSSIBLY come from this", He's faithful to reveal it every time! Every time!!!!

Yes, He is always there. I need to be reminded of this when the road seems uncertain. Our posts were certainly similar this week.

What a great post, and a great God. The song in the video is amazing, because my friend's grandson, who is a troop leader in Afghanistan, was just struck by a I.E.D. and is being flown to a hospital in Germany. The many scenes in this video certainly relate to that, you didn't know this, but God did!!

Yes, Sarah in this life we can't expect the best of everything just the best care from the awesomest God to get us through until one day we get to the place where "all our tears will be wiped away." There nothing will ever hurt us again, there will be singing and dancing. If we believe that, then enduring the trails of this life will be better because we will not end up in the place with "the wailing and grinding of teeth." Thanks for the totally cool post.

Hugs and blessings,
Amanda
