Spiritual Sunday "Jesus Loves You"

Spiritual Sundays are hosted by Charlotte and Ginger. To join in post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/
What we are is God's gift to us.  What we become is our gift to God.  ~Eleanor Powell

A local hospital library bought copies of my book to circulate in five sister hospitals. I'm amazed they did because the only thing that worked to break through all the darkness....was the touch of His gentleness and 'amazing grace.'  I put that in my book. I made it clear....nothing else worked....Only Him.

I'm humbled knowing my story will be made available for others to read and to hopefully find the hope and freedom that I found in Him.

I never meant to write a book. I just needed to get the memories out of my head. As I wrote....it dawned on me...just how far down He went to pull me out.  I owe Him.. I have to tell what He did....how He reached down with a love so great..it got through and freed me. I was ashamed before - not wanting anyone to know those things that happened....so I never told. I kept it all inside. I got an email the other day....Your book came to me as a message of hope. Now I know....I will tell....and keep telling for others to be free.
He accepted you at your worst...and He's proud of who you are....Jesus loves you....He loves you just because......

Dear Sara,

Each time I read your posts, I have goose-flesh. I love your honesty, your warmth, your faith, your courage and your words.

You give me SO much strength EVERY TIME you write.

My hurt dissolves in a way every time I come here. Will it suffice for me to say, "I love that I found you here"??

God bless you, dear girl.

I thank God for you, for your wonderful testimony, and willingness to be so open with your struggle. What you have put into words was very hard to do but so many I am sure have felt a pain similar like yours and your story may bring hope to those who are going through trials and tribulation. God works in mysterious ways through us, around us, with us, for us and in spite of us. May your own words and God’s love continue to create in ALL of us a thankful heart.
Our Lord is AMAZING!!
Sweet Blessing,
Virginia

Thank you for your visit and kind words on my blog. I see you have three. I am really loving this one, your story is so inspiring! Jesus did come to set us free, didn't he? Writing is such a healing thing. And when we can write about things that happened to us that are so hard to talk about...and then get that acceptance, it is so freeing. you have some wonderful variety on your blog, a little bit of everything, humor for sure. You cracked me up with the Costco Flintstone remark, but so TRUE!! Now I will always think of that when I'm in Costco, you have a wonderful whimsical way of thinking!

I forgot to tell you, I saw in your profile you like "Mary Did You Know". It's one of my favorite songs, I love the version by clay Aiken. I just signed up to follow you. Hope you have a blessed Sunday!

Your book is going to keep helping so many people for years to come! & now having copies at some hospitals... that is Awesome!

I would not have overcome so much, to be here now, without God's help and grace either! Thank you for sharing your stories, to help people like me. :-)

A friend and I were talking today about things in the past that have caused us to feel shame throughout our lives. We tend to want to hide them away and forget they ever happened, when it is the very opposite that actually sets us free from them. God forgave a long time ago, but we take so much longer to forgive ourselves. As we pull those things out of hiding and give God glory for delivering us, we see them for what they are-powerless. What the enemy meant to destroy us, God uses to help others as we share with them our victory over them...and in that very act, God changes what was meant for evil to something good. (perhaps like your book?)

We were talking about things we chose - sin. It is different when something is done to you, and you didn't choose it. But shame comes in many forms. I heard someone (Beth Moore I think) say once that you know when the devil is using something against you because he always signs it with shame.

Praise God...He has set us free! Free from past suffering or sin...free from shame!
