Thankful Thursday
Every time we remember to say "thank you" we experience nothing less than heaven on earth.
-- Sarah Ban Breathnach
Saying thank you helps me remember how much I have been given. I never want to forget where I was....how empty life had been....how dark...and cold...and scary and lonely. I never want to forget because in remembering I am filled with overwhelming gratitute. Today....I'm thankful for;
- the house I live in....it's an amazing place where I feel safe and am surrounded by nature - waterfront....wooded trails....tons of wildlife and great neighbours.
- my family - they're in my corner always and even love me on days I'm grumpy and no fun to be around.
- a healthy body - considering all the damage I did to my body..I'm glad there's nothing physically wrong with me.
- being a fighter. I used to hate that I was a fighter...but now....I'm thankful I am b/c it's that fighter in me that's been my strength and has kept me in the game...
- blogging - has connected me with some pretty amazing people who I have come to really care about. You guys really are the best.....I am totally thankful for all of you.

Amen dear. Glad for your thankfulness. You have a lot of comfort now surrounding you. Blessings and hugs.
I love the theme of this post (Thankful Thursday) when you take the opportunity to be grateful for all the positives in your life. It helps remind me of all that I have to be grateful for too! One of those things is making new and wonderful friends through FB and blogging. You are one of these people. Thanks for being you!
I really like your opening statement...it's so true, that once we start naming our blessings...we realize there is always another one...and another one...and still another one...we are blessed!

"...From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked..."
My dear friend... you have survived & thrived through much and so now enJOY the MUCH... and

Great post!
And I'm thankful your are here too, and have become what you are now. I'm thankful for your healing, your honesty, and the fact that you are prepared to share so that I can read your writing and then go away and perhaps understand a little of what other children and people are going through who haven't the words to explain.
Yup! I'm thankful for YOU!
I love your list of gratitude. You are so special not only to us but especially to your family in friends and all those around you.
Sending big hugs.......:-)
Yes it is hard to name blessings. I do it maybe too much on my blog, but can we ever be thankful enough?

I agree. There are a lot of amazing people in the blogging world -- including you!
I really like the beginning of this post in particular..You never want to forget. This is so true. I don't want to forget my past either. I never want to grow complacent.
Glory to the Highest.
Blessings,
Lyn
Amazingly simple: To be thankful for being thankful. I would never have thought of it, but the quality of thankfulness isn't something shared by all people. It IS a treasure to have a thankful spirit.
Like this!
happy Thursday to you.
your words are inspirational!
Thankful for people who cultivate a thankful heart. It's powerfully healing in my life.
Enjoyed this.
Have a glorious weekend!
Your post reminds me of a song by Point of Grace, "Heal the wound" but leave the scar, a reminder of how Merciful you are - Take the pieces of my heart, heal the wound but leave the scar.
If we let Him...How beautiful life becomes!
So very Grateful.
Love,
Julie
