Spiritual Sunday "We Shall Overcome"

Spiritual Sundays is hosted by two awesome people - Charlotte and Ginger. To join in post and ad your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

He was a man who stood up for what he believed...who hung onto faith....even when it looked as if his hope...his dream would never be realized.....He never let go. He wasn't moved by what he saw....He didn't look at circumstances. No matter how dark it got, and it got pretty dark.....he held onto God. I want that kind of faith...faith to see beyond the physical...faith to hang on and not let go.....To everyone fighting some kind of battle....addiction, cancer, family problems....I want to tell you.....we who believe in Him are on the side of truth...The Bible is right......We shall overcome!

As I read this, I thought of the many listed in Hebrews 11. Their faith remained strong even though none saw the promise. Dr. King didn't live to see his dream fulfilled, but he never lost his faith.

Good post Sarah and yes, through Jesus we shall overcome!

Martin Luther King Jr. is a great example of a man of faith. When we know God and who He is, our faith is immovable and relentless. Oh that I might know Him more and more and more.

I got shivers with that message. The great part of it is, it wasn't just for then, it is also for today!
Praise God for powerful people like Mr king who put Christ first and were not afraid to speak out."We shall overcome!"
Have a Blessed Sunday.

Hi Sarah,

Sorry I was gone for a while. I love this post. I am fighting a battle of mental illness and I know that Jesus probably looked Jewish with brown eyes. However, I have a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and when I feel like the whole world is aganist me, I look in the soft green eyes and I can feel his presence and I know that Jesus and I will win the war over my mental illness! He has already wom the battle over death so one day I will enter the kingdom without hearing voices or seeing things that aren't there. And I will be able to do things I couldn't do here. Thanks for reminding me that. And I love the Martin Luther King J.R. shout out! That was wonderful. He started a battle that is ever beening closer to being won. We even have an African - American president!

Thanks with hugs and blessings,
Amanda
