Spiritual Sunday. "Run to the Darkness"

Thank you Charlotte and Ginger for hosting these awesome Spiritual Sundays. To join in post and add your name at http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/

I don't usually read newspapers or listen to the news....but last week I did. It stunned me to hear about a 16 year old stabbed to death while waiting for the bus after school. Another boy stabbed him over and over in front of other kids. In Mass. a 15 yr. old commited suicide...hung herself... after months of being bullied.... all because she broke off with a boy that angered a group of nine students. And there were more stories..of murders, fatal crashes and arrests of sexual perverts.

It's easy to become discouraged listening to this. But it also made me think of what God did for me....how He reached so far down to pull me up and out of horrible darkness. I had been beaten, raped, drugged and bent on self-destruction. Nothing worked to free me....to bring me peace....nothing but the power of His gentleness. And I know He can touch anyone...the angry, the addict, the lost, the alcoholic, the vulnerable, the weak, the bullies and even the perverts. Having experienced the touch of His grace....I want to hold out my candle and go Light the world.....

Happy Easter Guys....

I absolutely love this song and this is a beautiful version of it. This dark world needs all the candles we can light. Thank you for being a light and thank you for sharing your heart.

Even one flickering light makes a difference in a dark room...What more with many, many lights? Glory be to the One Who already had overcome the world. Blessings to you sister and have a great Resurrection day.

What a beautiful witness. Happy Easter to you! I have many prayer requests but pray my nephew Tony will reconcile with his 13 year old daughter and he will want to stop drinking!
May God continue to bless your life!
Tragedy in the world just reminds me that we need to trust God and let him contend with Satan!
I am always saddened by tragedy that occurs all around me!

Yes indeed Sarah, what an awesome, loving God we serve. God, also has given me a heart for his hurting daughters. Been there - done that but by the grace of God.....

May you walk in the favor of God always!!!

Sarah, thank you for your Easter greetings. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could light up the world from the darkness that seems so daunting lately. We just keep lighting one bit at a time.

Blessings and Happy Easter Greetings,
Jeanne

I know what you mean about the news. Thanks for a little light. Someone said that there's not enough darkness in the world to shut out one small shining candle. Thanks for the reminder!

Yes TAKE YOUR CANDLE & LIGHT THE WORLD! You go Sarah...that's exactly what you do every time you bring your testimony to how Jesus saved you! I despise hearing or reading news like this that saddens & overwhelms me but then we awaken to the realities of the urgency...before one more life perishes. You make a difference!

I'm so glad that you and your two kids enJoyed the ABOVE ALL chalk drawing presentation at The Power of Your Love! I'm on the team there and at our prayer blog also besides my regular one and my MISSIONS one. Thank you for sharing! Keep sharing & being that light and bring gentle recovery to many others...I love Kathy's song!

Hope you enjoyed a powerful Resurrection weekend and you are feeling renewed, refreshed and ready to light the world with your candle!

Peace & love ~Peggy

I was going to play this song on my online radio show last week. It was about being a light in the darkness. Loved finding this video here today. :)

Go light your world, friend. :)

I can relate about not wanting to read or watch the news. It is full of such violence, sadness, brokeness... yes, we do need to share the light.
The world is a dark and scary place for some folks. Only Jesus can bring true healing and peace.
