Thankful Thursday - Goals.

"To me, it`s about dreaming in the day and in the night. Dreams have always helped me visualize my goals and aspirations. When I was a child, I could see me on stage singing my heart out. I could see what I was wearing and where I was going. I would visit that dream every single day and as I look back, my dreams kept me focused on what I wanted to do and the person I wanted to be."  Dolly Parton.

Summer for me is all about living life easy and free. But around mid-August with September a few weeks away, I always start to think about stuff I want to do - things I want to accomplish - ways to make a difference in my life and in the world.

I already have confirmations of startup dates for running workshops and having writing projects due. More than that - this is a time I start to 'dream awake and asleep' - to see those things that are key for me to live with purpose - to reach for the passion to give back and set it on fire again.

Summer - laid back, fun, family, friends.
Fall - focused, purposeful, giving back, making a difference.

Dreams delight me. They stretch me, make me reach higher. They give my life purpose, meaning. They enrich me. To give hope to someone in the dark, thrills me.

Maybe because in the Jewish faith, the new year begins in the Fall, for me, September means new beginnings - new projects, new adventures.

Getting excited. It's gonna be one fab year!

Happy Thursday, Guys.

September does seem like a time of beginnings sometimes for me too. I think because it is connected to the school calendar that it seems like that to me. There's a line from a John Denver song that says, "Dreams don't cost a cent." I've always liked that line. The first step in reaching a goal is having a dream to fulfill. Have a great weekend, Nikki!

I'm still squeezing what I can out of summer. We had our whole family home for a big family reunion and we were extremely busy for weeks. Now, I'm trying to rest up and enjoy some quiet moments.

I was much like Dolly. I used to visualize myself on stage singing my heart out. I never really accomplished that but I did get to sing for the Lord when we were in Ministry. The day came when I could no longer sing but He gave me another voice and I used that for a while. I have learned that I can be content when I put my trust in Him. There have been many disappointments over the years but they only served to make me stronger and more compassionate. No matter whether my dreams line up or not, I am most happiest when I am in His will. Have a wonderful weekend, Nikki.

Blessings,
Sandi

To those of the jewish fate - Fall is indeed, a very significant and busy season. It's the time of the New Jewish Year, and the Yom Kippour Day with its fasting, awe, and prayers.

As for dreams and goals, I believe we all have them, but you know how it is : "Man plans and God laughs". We have goals and make plans to achieve them, but it appears God has other plans for us. Prayers to God ,may help. We should do this often.

The woman in the picture (is it you?) looks lovely.

My two favourite seasons are the Spring and Fall ... or as us Brits call it the Autumn.

I find the year has passed so quickly ... please enjoy these remaining days of August before the calendar shows us September is here.

All the best Jan
