Thankful Thursday

"Inch by inch it's a cinch. Yard by yard it's hard." Mr. Walters.

Funny how the things some people say, stay with you. A few years ago, I met Mr. Walters, an elderly man who in his Jamaican drawl, told me me over and over and over that inch by inch anything's a cinch. I had never heard the phrase before. He said it to me so many times that those words became embedded in my brain.

Some things seem impossible, even hopeless, but everytime I'm tempted to give up, I hear Mr. Walter's voice, 'inch by inch, kid. You can do anything inch by inch.'

This week grateful for....

-that many books have already been given out and are now available in five institutions. They're getting into the hands of women who need hope. Yeahhh.
-incredible good has come out of the 'preacher man' who stole one of my rough drafts and has been selling it and telling people he's the author. It was through him that I connected with the woman who got the donation to put my book in a pocket size edition to distribute. What was meant for bad, really turned out amazing.
-going for hikes everyday. Love that all the birds are back. Walking in nature again and hearing its calming sounds is so peaceful.

-Mostly...He's got plans....amazing ones and all I got to do is say, I'm in...let's go. He makes life good, amazingly good.

Happy Thursday, Guys.

I love that expression. I had never heard it before, and it is so true. An old mentor of mine used to say, "It's a tick at a time sometimes." She started saying it after her son suffered a horrible accident. His recovery was too slow to call it a day at a time. She opted for the tick of the second hand instead.

And I'm so glad to read the part about the book. A true Joseph moment for you for sure.

What a neat saying! That's a new one to me. I like it. :)

Such great news about your book! You are helping others. Must be a very good feeling to have knowing that.

I have heard that saying and the funny thing is that It just heard it last night and though... yes.. inch by inch...

Not always easy though...

I am always amazed and in awe of you... you have such great Faith... I am not sure I have ever had that Faith and I wish that I did, life might be a bit easier to cope with...

Have an amazing weekend and thank you for always being inspiring:)

Now that is something I will remember - inch by inch - it doesn't seem to be so hard that way!

Your Jamacian friend sounds like a very wise man! God really does work everything out for good. Isn't it just like Him to turn your trials with the 'preacher man' into good? Bless His name!

I'm still waiting for our trails to open up and the nice weather to come. I don't know if you had heard but the Island was battered with some horrible storms the past two weeks. But Spring is slowly making her way into the Maritimes. Hope you have a blessed weekend with your loved ones, Nikki.

Hugs,
Sandi

I have heard that quote before. I've actually heard it said this way: "Yard by yard, it's hard. But inch by inch, it's a cinch."

Over the last several weeks when life has been so hard, my sister has reminded me that we only have to go one step at a time. And not one of those steps do we ever have to walk alone!

Yup.

GOD BLESS!

Wonderful post, my friend. So sorry about the stolen material, but all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Go, you!

Mr. Walter's saying reminded me of the Chinese proverb that says something like, "The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
