Thankful Thursday

"Cold, cold, cold, cold." Disney Movie, Frozen

It's cold out. Minus 16 cold. We don't want to leave the house. We want to stay home and hunker down in warmth and cozy.

Maybe it's a good thing....the best way to start a new year....huddled with family....chatting,  laughing,,,,taking time with each other,  watching movies, playing board games, reminiscing.

Life's good. I feel it right down to my toes and in every part of my being. Maybe it's b/c I feel incredibly loved, or maybe life with all it's tough stuff has evened out and played out well these last couple of years. Whatever it is, 2014 is going to be another incredible year. I'm grateful for......

-our home.....warm, safe, tons of creature comforts
-family and friends who show they care in big ways and small, who are always there in my corner  and me in theirs. It's living with their kindness that pushes me forward to want to give back and help someone else find their way.
-Twisted Innocence, positive reviews have been coming in. And the people I wrote about, the little girl, and the detective's family, love the book. They said I captured the characters bang-on.  Makes me glad I pushed for the truth and wrote it in this little book.
-Beginnings. There's something neat and exciting about them. New year. New beginnings. New adventures. New purpose. It feels like I'm standing on the threshold, catching a breath and preparing to step into a whole new experience.
-Mostly, knowing that I don't have to go it alone....He's there, already charting out everything and reaching out a hand for me to step out again on paths unknown....and to not be afraid. Love that. Love that every day of every year is remarkable b/c He's on the journey with me. I look at the trees, hills and nature and think, okay....if He's done all that, what He and I do together is bonus.

Happy 2014, Guys....It's gonna be an amazing year!

Gosh, but you've such a way to bring me up ... simply by allowing us a peak into your warm and cozy corner ... and most importantly reminding me, no where I walk am I walking alone!

Thank you, for being YOU!

Best, best wishes and sweet dreams!

It's cold here too, Nikki. We've been in the deep freeze for days. I got up to minus 25 Celsius this morning with a windchill of minus 38 and tomorrow they are calling for a blizzard. I'm tired of winter already. But like you, I too can give thanks for many things. We are blessed people! Winter only lasts for a season and then spring will come. Thank you for your inspirational posts every week and Happy New Year, my friend! May 2014 bring you and your loved ones much joy in Him!

Blessings from the Island,
Sandi

Brrr!!

Love this post, Nikki - especially glad to hear about the positive reviews of your book!

I have many things on my plate as this new year arrives - decisions about further care for my elderly parents. And yet, God has given me a *Word for 2014* that surprises me - JOY.

I can't wait to see how He works that into my life and my heart!

GOD BLESS!

I'm so thankful too that we don't have to go it alone! Just knowing that He's already gone ahead of us and stays with us in the moment is a huge blessing. I want to rely on that peace more this year.

That's some cold temps! I guess I shouldn't complain that we might get down to 11, which is extremely, extremely cold for us! Stay warm, my friend.
