Thankful Thursday - Home

“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”  Maya Angelou

The one thing I wanted more than anything else.....to have a home to go home to.

Home represents so much to me - mostly a place where I belong.

It's true what Dorothy said in the movie, The Wizard of Oz......"There is no place like home!!" I'm grateful this week for:

-Our Home....my safe place to be.....to let my hair down....to be totally real.
-Our Home....that I share it with the people I adore the most.
-Our Home....where I'm free to write my heart with no one looking over my shoulder or judging
-Our Home....a place of peace and calm where I can run to when the world hurts.
-Mostly that He's there in every room, every corner, every spot. His being there is what really makes our home....home.

It's true, there really is no place like home. I love the Maya Angelou quote too. :)

I am so grateful to have a home to go to also. So many in the world do not have one. I can't even imagine what that must be like.

Amen to that! All the other things just wouldn't be the same or mean as much without Him being there....

I have and still put so much into making my home visual pleasing...and that's not all bad...but even with all the things you mentioned if Jesus does not fill the space it's not home. And as good as it can be here, and it can be here I still feel the ache...cause the is another better home coming...one we were made for.

grace, peace and love to you dear one!

Learning to leave my *earthly* home in His hands. Last month we were evacuated due to a wildfire that threatened our home. Now there's another fire in the vicinity.

I am reminded that the home that I love so much completely belongs to Him. And no matter what, NOTHING can steal my heavenly inheritance!!

GOD BLESS!

Hi Nikki,
What a touching post! Home is my favourite place to be too. It's my safe haven which I share with the one I love and the place where our children and their little ones come to visit. It's a place I've always dreamed of having because I didn't have it when I was growing up. I guess we all have our stories. So glad you have found yours! Sending you big hugs, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Amen Nikki. I like to be home just to relax with Jesus and get some rest. I can't wait for our heavenly home, I could use a new home and fresh start though!
