Thankful Thursday

How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?  Dr. Seuss

Time flies. Really flies. Even my youngest said the other day....she can't believe school is almost done.

Time....I want it to count...to mean something....and use it well. I don't always. Sometimes I get lazy...I put stuff off thinking I can do it tomorrow or the next day or the day after. Sometimes I let weeks...months...even a couple of years go by and still don't do that thing that plays in my head.

Other times....something pops into my mind.....and it's all I can think about until I make it happen. Time....we're only given so much.  Okay....my new commitment - not to waste any more of it. Grateful this week for.....

-Time with my girls...laughing, goofing around and even having deep talks.
-Time spent mentoring a couple of people...Weird how helping them helps me too and reminds me how far I've come.
-Time wandering the woods, listening to the sounds of nature....feeling the power of His presence - I come home infused with incredible courage and bravery and feeling as if I can leap tall building and touch the sky.
-Time with friends....friends that make me feel loved and special.
-Mostly.....Time He's given me. I used to think I wouldn't live past 20 or 26 or 30....but He let me live. And everyday I wake up grateful for being alive.....and given another day to live my best life.

Beautiful reminder. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about time and how I spend it. Since I'm getting older and it seems to be racing by, I am more mindful of that than I used to be.

Good morning Nikki,
Nothing energizes me more than a walk in the woods or along the beach. There is just something about being outside in His wonderful creation and breathing in clean fresh air while taking in all the beauty around me. He is awesome! And I am thankful for the time He has given me. There were a number of times when I wondered how much time I had, and I'm still here! Thank you for once again sharing from your heart. Have an awesome day.

Blessings,
Sandi

This was my husband and my conversation last night...how easily it gets away from us, and how we have to be intentional with our time.
Great list....blessings

So true! Love that Dr. Seuss quote.

I've been working on better time management this week myself. Praying for God's direction and for the help I'll need to be disciplined to do the things I know I should.

I was talking about how quickly time goes by this morning with my son. He's a senior in high school this year and can't wait to be done there. I told him he'd be through before he knew it. Nice post!

When you become aware of time and how fast it goes by, it makes your perspective different. I'm praying that I will always set mine on what truly lasts! God bless and empower you sister!

I know God sent me here for a reason today. I am struggling with not doing the things I should do. I end up blogging, emailing and pinteresting my days away. When I look around my house I am so ashamed of what I see. Others don't see it but I know it's there in every closet, drawer and cabinet. Time is flying by and here I sit. Today I must make a change because time is fleeting and I need to start living each moment to the fullest.

Grateful to be alive. Yes indeed, that's how I feel at 60. And God continues to infuse us with fresh strength and new mercies each day.

You are right, finding time to spend with your girls... they'll never forget that!

Thanking God for you...
