Senseless

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at Faith Filled Fridays

"We live in a time when all ideals are being shattered and destroyed....when people are showing their worst side and don't know whether to believe in truth and right and God.

Deep down, the young are lonelier than the old. I wonder if anyone can ever succeed in making their children content. Daddy's words were right when he said...parents can only give good advice, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.

It's difficult in times like these...ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart." Anne Frank

I fell asleep last night....heartsick over the school shooting. Why would anyone would want to hurt the innocent? I woke up thinking about the pain of those who lost their children and family members in such a brutal and senseless act. Praying that somehow God brings them comfort.

God must need another angel around the throne tonight....

Yesterday and this morning my mind whirled with sadness, anger, grief and started filling up with the "whys, what ifs and hows"...my heart ached for the whole town. Making sense out of a senseless act, I don't think it's possible with our human minds. A thought hit me tonight..Truth from scripture, Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
There are more of us then there are of them..I believe we need to let our lights shine even brighter..they need us to shine.

During times like this, I just can't ask why or try and make sense of it. I just have to hold on stronger than ever and cling to my faith; trust in Him who has all wisdom, mercy, and grace.

Praying with you Sarah!
Blessings dear friend,
Denise

I'm praying too that God brings them comfort. I just can't even begin to imagine the pain. Horrendous....

Anne's words seem so fitting here.

"The children are lonelier than the old." I think in many cases this must be true in light of the situations so many of them have been forced to endure at the hands of unwise adults. - Unfortunately in spite of what Anne's words say, we are not born good or naturally good at heart, thus the need for a redeemer. People truly need love's pure light this Christmas season. This tragedy is so hard to grasp.

A very beautiful song, never heard it before. But every word speaks for what I feel about my own husband who went to heaven four years ago. Thanks for sharing.

Someday we'll see those 20 children face to face in heaven. What an untimely death, but praise God, in heaven their eyes behold their Creator.
