"The great thing about getting older
is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been." Madeleine
L'Engle
I think this age thing is a gift. As I'm getting older...I see and do things differently than how I would have...even from a year ago. I chose not to react or be impulsive like before.
Maturity? Age? Not sure but looking back over this past year and what's happened....my attitude's changed - I trust more....and I'm more willing to wait things out then to act impulsive and quick.
I see it with my kids too. My 12 year is talking different...with more understanding....more reason.....and she's moving differently in her world. And my 16 year old.....the passion she has to take on her world...make a huge difference......no fears.....
This week I'm thankful for....
-seeing things clearer.....more positive...with greater hope and peace.
-My book, Dancing Softly, finally done. Finito. Now working on the cover and then off to publish next tues.Yeahh!!!
-Discovered a retreat centre in the mountains for writers and artists It's a place we plan to visit often.
-Incredible talks with my girls....Their slant on things totally inspires me.
-Mostly.....knowing He's there always....arranging pieces of my life....bringing loose ends together....making sense of the confusing....pumping me with hope and peace and joy...not b/c of perfect circumstances....but just the knowing that He's there ....working behind the scenes for my highest good.

I love the quote...I enjoyed reading her through the summer..the picture is priceless, isn't that what the brain does, we always are young in our brain, even if our bodies won't move that way anymore
Your list is wonderful...and yes, aging is great as it brings wisdom and peace
Congrads on your book...enjoy those girls!!!
Hi Nikki,
I like that quote and the picture is so right on! I often think to myself that it would be so great if I could go back thirty years and have the wisdom I have now. Oh, the mistakes I could have avoided! But I have learned from them and hopefully they have made me better. Congratulations once again on your new book and have a lovely weekend with your girls.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi Nikki,
Yes...I am definitely seeing thing differently. I wish sometimes I did not have to learn things through experience, but just the way it is. I have learned to be so much more compassionate to the suffering of others. You are right. He is right there, holding me through it all. Sending you gentle hugs. :)

I think I have become more patient and less impulsive as I get older too. Congratulations and good luck with your new book!
Well the retreat place sounds perfect. How wonderful to have your book done. Way to go! Love the photo, have seen in many times and it's so perfect for your post.
Age does bring wisdom. (well maybe not to those who are going through a mid life crisis)
It's nice not to impusively jump as much...but to wait and trust KNOWING He's got it. I am thrilled your book is done! WHOOHOO sister that is worth celebrating! I can't wait to read it. And those girls of yours...see the difference in you and it's making a difference in them too! That's a two-fer. You inspire!!
Love ya,
Jul
Your post made me smile, thank you. We grow and at times we are not aware of the positive change in ourselves but then we realise and think-how did that happen or when did that happen? Thank you God. The retreat sounds perfect-I hope you have many opportunities to go there. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing part of your life, the changes and the blessings and God's hands over all.
I am sure your new book is a great read. Praise God for a ready publisher. It really is amazing how God opens our eyes to see where we have been... it's like a ray of light that shines in our path, giving us hope to keep on.
Blessings on your weekend.
Love
