Faith

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday  & Laura at Faith Filled Friday

"When you get to the end of all the light you know and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: either you'll be given something solid to stand on, or you'll be taught how to fly." Edward Teller

Divine Appointment.... those two words popped into my head this week...Words I never use..but they were there...playing over in my mind...all week.

Divine Appointment - it's not only being brought into the awesome...the great...the fun.....
Divine Appointment...it's also being led into the dark....the not so pretty...the tough stuff that makes no sense at all....

It made me think of when I was in Corrie Ten Boom's house...looking at her family pictures on the walls and the hundred year old family bible sitting on the desk....And next to them...the ones of the camps....their brutality...and horror and devastation...

The Ten Booms were kind, generous and courageous....sharing their faith...hiding Jews in their home....living exemplary lives...Why were they taken to the camps?

If Corrie hadn't been in that horrible inhumane place...she'd never have been able to travel the globe telling people 'There's no pit so deep that His love is not deeper still.

Divine Appointments....They're not always pretty and fun and full of light. Sometimes they're confusing, horrifying and full of unbelievable sadness. But there's always a plan....a purpose....so today....I choose to trust even in the dark....

How Long O Lord.....But I will trust in Your unfailing word....

The possibilities of divine appointments are endless! If we are willing to be led by the Holy Spirit, great things are possible. :)

Love this Sarah. The "no making sense at all" divine appointments for me requires a lot of faith. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.

I love the word "divine appointment." It is just two words, but if to the one who believes there are no chance or coincidental happenings, then these two words are packed, and overflowing with faith. Faith that a Sovereign King is on the throne. I love the way you put your thoughts together, Nikki. The sunshine and the rain, both come into our lives for a reason beyond what we can grasp.

In the final analysis, what Joseph says to his brothers makes so much sense in light of divine appointments. What the enemy has meant for evil, God can turn around for good.

Blessings on your weekend,
Lidia

I love your illustration using Corrie Ten Boom. Her family's dedication to Christ's work was amazing. I'm sure it was thrilling for you to visit her home. Thanks for a beautiful reminder. (Visiting from Faith Filled Friday linkup.)

I just want to let you know that your words ministered to my heart this morning. Thank you. I agree that everything indeed has a purpose, whether we like the place where we are in or not. So, today, I want to have that view. Of finding God's lessons for me of what is to come in my journey this couple of weeks. Blessings to you sister. Praying all is well with you.

This is so true. Everything that happens in our lives happens for a purpose. We need to find out what that purpose is. You are helping many people find the purpose for their lives by your example. I love the way God is using you. I love the way He used Corrie Ten Boom and so many others. Thank you for sharing this.
Blessings,
Charlotte

This reminds me of the verse about you meant it for harm but God meant it for good. There is nothing that God can't use to bring us to him. Interesting photo, too!

Sometimes when things are dark and all you feel is pain it's hard to believe God is there and has a plan. The last 3 years have been trail after trial. I chose to believe God is still in control.

Hey Nikki,
I have been trying to trust God in the dark of the last six months. One trial after another. Sometimes I did not think I would make it. Then...today, a divine appointment, a breakthrough. One word. A confirmation of the last six years.
One encounter can change everything. My Spirit is flying. Thanks my friend for your encouragement in the dark times.
Hugs,
Tammy

PS. 113:4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous (wo)man.

It is good to trust in the Lord! He's the One who keeps our feet from slipping.

You are in my prayers sister.

Love this Nikki. Faith and trust...two words I have been struggling with lately. But, I know that even in my darkest moments the Lord is there beside me. Thank you for reminding me that I need to trust Him then just as much as when I am standing fully i the light!

Blessings...Chelle

This is a great word...not all divine appointments are filled with rainbows and sunshine. Asking God for increased faith, trusting that He can rescue us from any pit.

God finds us in the darkness, doesn't He? Your posts puts some things in perspective for me. I wonder what are the things I'll be permitted to share because I went through the hard places of life.

Still praying for you situation.

It's true, I think, that sometimes we are led into the darkness. We may not understand why at the time, but I think we will eventually. Faith will see us through it.

They say nothing makes God laugh more then when we tell him what our plans are.

It is a blessing to follow your heart and know your story. And to see how God is training you. Hard lessons, but oh how close He comes when we trust Him in the darkness. Thank you for sharing.

"I will trust in the dark", thank you for this post Sarah (Nikki). It is so true divine appointments are not always places we would choose to walk in to. It is hard to see in the dark and we can get stuck-that is where I feel I am. However as you say and remind us trust in the dark because God knows what is going on, the way forward. Thank you.

I nominated your blog for some blog awards. If you so wish you can check it out at my blog. :-) God Bless.
