All's Good

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at Faith Filled Friday

The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire" John Mitchell

I heard something so cool....a $5 bar of steel can be made into horseshoes worth $10. That same bar of steel can be made into needles worth $350....or it can even be made into watch springs worth $2050.

The more it's manipulated....
The more it's hammered, beaten....put through the fire, polished ...the value of that $5 bar of steel increases.

Sometimes it's hard to understand why He lets stuff happen....the bad stuff....the stuff that drives me crazy.....But I'm discovering.... that with every tough situation.....I'm getting stronger...more sure of me and mostly....more sure of Him.

Refiner's fire....My heart's one desire...to be set apart for You..

Love this! I hadn't heard it quite like this before. Trying to be thankful in difficult times knowing I am being refined. Many blessings

I know now, but before when I was hurting, needeed help and mistreated, I was not thnakful. Looking back, now I know that those things formed me as I am now. Thanks for visiting,
I share also my thoughts and what I hear from God through my other blog: willyouhearfromme.blogspot.com

Nikki, this is so spot on for me. The fire has been very hot these past months. Although at times my emotions and body feel weak and failing, I do believe that I am getting stronger with each trial. Remembering to give thanks!

Thank you for sharing dear one. Blessings.

Love this Sarah! When pain and frustration surrounds us, we can be confident in our God who loves us,and who will give us joy and tranquil peace when we persevere. The worst sufferings, our biggest disappointments of life cannot destroy this! :) Similar to a post I am working on. :)

Blessings for a "spiritual" weekend!

So true...I feel like the steel right now. For as much beating I have been through...I hope it is the watch springs he is turning me into..(smile) Hey Nikki, I am feeling a bit better. Thanks for the encourgement through it all.

Hugs,
Tammy

You know...I also heard a story of women interviewing a jeweler...one woman asked how do you know when the gold is ready to be shaped...the jeweler said...I watch it the whole time, never taking my eyes off of it. I know it's ready when I see my reflection looking back at me.
He's shaping us to be more like Him!
Be still...and Know
love ya

I love that about the steel. It's hard to be in the fire, but it's what adds character--pure gold, in fact!

Still praying about your book issue.

I read that same state about steel. It really struck a cord with me. Like you as I journey with God I discover that He indeed is trustworthy. It's one thing to hear about a character trait of God and quite another to experience that in your life.

This was, indeed, just for my husband and me. We needed it at this very time. Just found out a little over a week that he has bone cancer, but God is still good and we bless His Name.

Good lesson. I hear the gold refining analogy a lot, but not the steel. This is good.
