Thankful Thursday

תקווה Hope!  The two-thousand-year-old Jewish hope - To be a free people in their own land, was never lost….It was fulfilled by the promise….

Promises....they mean a lot. When someone makes a promise it immediately clicks in my head that it's guaranteed....a definite.... something to count on. I'm careful never to promise my girls anything I can't make good on....When I do...they wait for it....they expect it. This week I'm thankful for....

-My youngest for her keeping her promise and showing me I can totally trust what she says.
-My oldest said she'd reread one of my manuscripts. She not only did that, but she did some editing as well. I value her opinion and am grateful for her input.
-the little things like being out in woods... on the trails...feeding the birds....seeing the small animals...breathing in the beauty....
-Someone's smile....always makes me feel good.
-And mostly....for all His amazing promises - for bringing good out of the bad....opening up ways where there didn't seem to be any...and always being there in my world making everything shine.

Good morning Nikki,
I love the picture of the rainbow! His promise! Sounds like you're having a wonderful week. Thank you for another shining post.

Nikki, I always love to read your Thankful Thursday posts. God has spoken to me years ago through a rainbow, and each time I need a visual confirmation of His promise, a rainbow somehow appears in the sky. Last night I went to sleep hugging a promise of God close to my heart... and this morning as I felt led to stop by your blog, there is that picture of the rainbow again!

And the word hope... this means so much to me as well. My second grandson is named Full of Hope. He was born in a critical condition, but we called out his name out from where we were allowed to view him (he was in Neonatal ICU for eleven days)... and the name did much to speak life to him and his condition was reversed.

Love the way your two children speak hope and joy to you.

Today as I start my day, I hold this word HOPE and Promise Keeper in my heart. I join you in thanking God "for all His amazing promises - for bringing good out of the bad....opening up ways where there didn't seem to be any".

A blessed full of hope in God's promises Thursday evening to you.

I'm always gratified -- and someone surprised -- when someone keeps his/her word. Call me naive, but when someone says they'll do such and such, then doesn't, I'm really disappointed ... even at the little things. You are so blessed!

So true about not making promises you are not willing to keep! I learned the hard way to be careful what I even suggested because suggestions raise hopes.

I'm so glad that God's hope is not a vain hope but a PROMISE.

why is it so difficult for people to keep promises and to easy to make them? the one that is said so often "I'm here for you" really? that is seldom kept

I love finding rainbows - I love when people keep their promises - they say what they mean, and they mean what they say - totally trustworthy. Repetition is what brings the trust...I love that God is the same yesterday today and forever. He says what He means, and means what He says. I am thankful for His promises!
So nice of your oldest to help mom out! Happy Thursday!
Love,
Jul
