Changing Lives

Linking up with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday

"I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do.” Corrie Ten Boom

I never wanted to write and tell what happened...those horrible things that kept me living defeated...broken and alone. But in 2009 a writer encouraged me to tell to give others hope. Reluctantly I wrote...and told...and published...and even won an award - My story, what I lived and His touch that turned everything around. It's stunned me how the book has touched so many. I run empowerment groups now for women to show them that nothing is impossible to overcome...and if my life can change....so can theirs.

The director of The Ernie Hollands Ministry in Canada read my book. She asked that I consider giving it to women in prison. Many have broken lives and have experienced terrible traumas; they need hope to know their lives can change for the better. "Your book," she said. "shows that hope."

Ernie Hollands ministry will issue tax receipts to anyone sponsoring a book to a prisoner.

He's no fool to buy what he can never lose to see a treasure in  soul.

THANK YOU for sharing how God has brought you through. That is a great quote from Corrie ten Boom.

Dear Sarah, thank you for visiting my blog. I was also sexually abused as a child and have gone through much sorrow. I have donated to give one of your books to a prisoner. It is under the name of Daniel. That is my husband. I don't think I've recovered as much as you have, but God has been with me all the way. I rejoice in knowing him and the power of his salvation.

I have read your book and it is a truly amazing story. I have sponsored a book for a prisoner and will be praying for the 'woman' the Lord chooses to receive it.

We don't realize, I think, how much it can help another to know they aren't alone in their struggles. It was brave of you to share your story.

It takes real courage to tell a story like yours. And you will never know how many people will be moved to improve their lives because of you. Bravo.

Sarah, your book/story is going to touch so many lives and give these women hope for their own future. Most of all it will inspire them to keep the faith - to believe that HE is with them and all they have to do is call upon Him and His Angels. Blessing for your strength!! Hugs, C. (HHL)

No - I don't need a receipt. I think this could be an amazing ministry. I am hoping to sponsor a book for a prisoner monthly.

We are not our Past but I am convinced that we are (no matter what our past is) called to tell our stories...so that others can find the hope that we have found and so that we can give those struggling HOPE....because He is our Hope.

What a fabulous ministry idea!
