Thankful Thursday

Linking with Cami at Thankful Thursday

If you hold a cat by the tail you learn things you cannot learn any other way. Mark Twain

Sometimes it seems that I always learn stuff the hard way....the most difficult...through trials that totally 'try' everything in me. I used to ask why all the time. But I think now.....some of life's lessons have to be learned the hard way for them to really become fixed.

And learning things the hard way usually makes me more sensitive to what other people are going through. So maybe it's not all bad. This week grateful for.....

-the freedom to write again. Editing and proof reading one of my stories I submitted to Diaspora. It feels so great to have the words flow again.
-the lawyer who is willing to fight for me in a case against a Christian man who stole my manuscript. Funny thing about this situation.....he claims to love God...the lawyer makes no such claim. She's not charging me anything and he's trying to take what doesn't belong to him.
-End of year parties and grads for my girls....seeing them happy and excited and growing....pumps me with so much joy. Funny thing about kids....they fill up places in my heart I never knew existed.
-Hope....without it life would be empty
-Mostly....Him in my corner....knowing He's always there....gives me courage and  makes me feel like I can face anything.....do anything....be anything.

So horrible about the thief who professes a faith. The Word speaks of those folks, and it makes me sad for him. (Sad for him, angry on behalf of you.)

I think you said that you know him personally and not just peripherally or professionally too, right?

I pray that we'll claim this as a victory for the Kingdom and that God will use it in the life of the compassionate lawyer.

Hi Nikki,
It's sad! These folks who claim to know Him and yet their lives yield no such fruit.
We give thanks to our loving God who is in your corner and so are your friends and loved ones!
Happy for all the positives in your life. When it's all said and done, our God reigns! And you are His child. Have a beautiful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

I think "learning the hard way" is part of growing and maturing, but it is oh-so-painful! I'm thankful He gives us hope, and that because He's in our corner, we can "go forth in grace alone."

The man who stole your manuscript - what does he intend to do with it? Write his own book? Goodness... how can he stomach that!

I love what you have written here... so much hope. Everything is in God's hands.

The thief has been found out - and he is obligated to return to you seven times what he has stolen. Expect some great things coming your way!

Blessings...

You can indeed face anything.

So this is the man who you were writing for him? What a strange thing about him and the lawyer, we need to show we are Christians by example. I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

I believe that is what God intended for us. How many times can we tell/warn our children of lessons we learned yet they don't "get it" until they experience it for themselves. So glad the words are flowing.

Another great share!
You know, I'm struck by the fact this (self-professed) Christian did this awful thing, yet the attorney who made no such claim quietly goes about doing His word.

That is terrible that someone stole your manuscript. How is he a Christian?? That is terrible. So sorry to hear that. Hope it all gets all worked out. That is amazing your lawyer isn't charging you!

How awful for someone to steal your manuscript! What would he gain from it?

Praying for the Lord's protection and may you have a great rest of the week ahead sister!
