Joy

Linking with Charlotte at  Spiritual Sunday  and Laura Beholding Glory

“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” Madeleine L'Engle

How is it possible that I feel happy when all this horrible stuff is going on that makes me want to cringe?  I'm not sure....but I do. I feel this amazing joy....a peace that everything is as it's supposed to be.

Often when I write stories, I do the ending first. That way I know where I'm heading with the plot.  It's like a road map that helps me stay on track.

And the present mucky situation I'm in....with that man who stole my manuscript.....God already knows the end and it's a happily ever after.

I remember when I went to visit my sister in Israel....she took me to the Dead Sea. No one can drown in there. Everyone floats. It's so neat....all  you see are heads and toes. And being in Him...it's impossible to go under.

Joy.....it really does run deeper than despair.

Rise above....past the here and now..where faith remains

I am on my third book from Madeleine L'Engles...so I enjoyed the quote...I have highlighted her books a lot.

I also haven't heard this song...love it.

Blessings and may His joy, which isn't a matter of circumstances continue to overflow.

I just got done with my morning devotion & your post paralleled with it in reminding me about the truth in Him. Of how He doesn't give us the crumbs under the table of His grace but instead He invites us to share the feast in His table. Of how He doesn't give just a few riches but He chose to have us partake of all His inheritance. Thanks be to God for His gift of joy. For putting a piece of heaven in our hearts that gives us hope no matter how hard circumstances are. Be strong sister. God bless.

Found you via Faith Filled Friday... I have a friend who is going through some really hard times. But she chooses to trust, and her joy is so evident. It's because of Him!

You hit the nail on the head - when you know the ending - HEAVEN - in the scheme of things nothing else is that important. sandie

I have been in the Dead Sea as well and your comment - Being in Him - it is impossible to go under is such a perfect use of something physical to explain the perfect security we have in our God. Thank you for the picture. Lovely reading your posts..looking forward to more .... God Bless...

I really love this post. It is like writing about myself. :) but on the other hand, it is God's joy in our hearts that makes us joyful in the midst of conflict. Blessings to you nikki

Hi Nikki, yes God is the God of the impossible! I wake up with joy and peace IN SPITE OF what i am undergoing right now. I know God has a purpose and not one ounce of my discomfort or pain will be wasted. I have Pemphigus Vulgaris and Thalassemia and a host of other stuff, and sometimes I am amazed at how bubbling with joy I am right now! Patsy from

I love your illustration of the Dead Sea where you said, "being in Him...it's impossible to go under." Great words to remember. I hope everything with your manuscript gets straitened out!

A few years ago, I was shocked to hear the executive producer/writer of one of my fav television dramas confess, "We wrote the final episode first!"
Now, yours. After reading this yesterday and giving it some thought, I "get it" ... yea!
Wishing you a beautiful day :)

Everything is as it's supposed to be. Yes, that is true and when we can accept that, peace comes much quicker. Very nice post!

Reading the part about Israel reminded me of our trip there back in 1978. I was amazed at how beautiful the Dead Sea was. I thought it would be ugly. I like the part about not drowning. I've always been a little afraid of water.
The peace of God transcends all understanding. Maybe that's why it is called amazing grace.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Joy in the midst of difficulties, this is such a powerful message of hope dear Nikki.

God has poured that joy in your heart to keep you afloat, and not be pulled down by the lies of the enemy. God is looking after you, dear friend!

Loved the video, I never heard it before.
