Courage

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday & Laura at Beholding Glory & Wendy at Sunday Link-up

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear"  Ambrose Redmoon

Friends always tell me I have courage....the guts to do what they can't. I don't often feel very brave. I actually feel pretty chicken-hearted every time I need to do something that's different or a challenge. I drive myself and everyone around me crazy.... wondering if I should do the thing or not.  But then I think.....what would happen if I don't.....That's when I know....I have to take that risk. I have to go for that thing.

And if He's with me.....it'll turn out okay. It's Him that makes the difference. It's Him that gives me the courage to go for it. It's Him that makes me brave when everything in me is screaming 'run.' 'don't do it.' And I think it's even Him that puts me in those scary situation.....to stretch me...to help me reach higher....and to live better.

Let the weak say I am strong.....

"This is my command--be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." NLT

This was a text the Lord spoke to me before we moved from Inverness to Aberdeenshire in 2005.

Your post reminds me of this and my current post, i.e. "... and the walls came tumbling down!"

Thank you for linking up with Scripture Sunday this week Sarah. It is always a pleasure to host a link to your blog.

It is definitely God who puts me in the scary situations and then says, " I will be with you!" Keep shining the light Dear Nikki. I needed to hear this today. Have been having a tough time lately. Lots of trials, but God is faithful.

Tammy

Courage...I see it in every post your write. You always explain things in such a real way. The struggle inside, should I or shouldn't I do this thing. Right where I am, a simple email last Friday..one question email...it's messing with me and I want the answer to come from the LORD. I am waiting...and flipflopping in my mind. Would you say a prayer that I hear loud and clear..and know that I know. I want to be obedient. Go or no...I want to know. :) Thanks sister!

This is a beautiful song. So many times fear can hold us back, but God says he has not given us a spirit of fear.

What a beautiful song you have shared here, and the pictures drive home the point. All over the world, Satan has done a terrible work of devastation, but yes, let the weak say I am strong. In Him there is hope, and restoration.

You are right, He gives the courage for us to do what we think we can't, in our own strength.

Great post... I love your honesty, Nikki.

That is a beautiful song and photo gallery. I so agree with you about courage and fear. Fear can stop me in my tracks, but the He helps me through it all.

I loved the pictures with that song...and that's what it's all about...what the Lord has done...in us and for us...we are nothing without Him...amen to your words - "It's Him that makes the difference."...

Courage can be such a fleeting feeling. I guess I am like you not sure if I have it or not but in hind sight it does appear.
