In My Daughter's Eyes

Linking up with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday  and Laura at Beholding Glory

"Children reinvent your world for you" Susan Saradon

The first time I held my daughters in my arms.....and saw how small and vulnerable they were......and how much they needed me to protect and care for them....I made a commitment....that with God’s help, I would never allow them to experience anything of what I did. They never have.

Over the years my girls taught me to move in the world in ways contrary from the despair and violence I had known.

Their faith in me gives me hope...their belief in me to do the right thing, gives me courage to live my best life. Their smiles with trust and love in their eyes.....pushes me forward to be best I can....and to model for them all that’s good in the world.

I want to do everything to help them live strong, happy and grounded. And I want my love to carry them wherever they go...and to remember always how much their mom loves them and how much they changed me for the better.

I know God loves me a ton.....b/c He gave me the greatest gift ever....my girls.

Happy Mother's Day Guys!

 In my daughter's eyes......I am a hero.

Hey sister! Thanks for the visit! Isn't it true how we want to teach our children yet in a lot of ways, we end up learning so much from them? Happy Mother's Day to you, too and may you have a great weekend! Stay strong!!! ;)

Happy Mother's Day to you! When my first child, a daughter was born, I was terrified. I had no role model to be a mother of little girl. However, for her, her sister and their little brother, I made a vow each time I held them the first time that never a day would go by that as their mother I would forget to tell them, they were unique, they could do/be anything they wanted in their life, I loved them. They followed their dreams and I am so very proud of my children. My girls now have children of their own. My son has served in the Middle East and 12 years in the AF. The Lord blessed you and I with precious gifts of children and then HE gave us instructions to raise them. I don't make a real big deal of having my kids do up mother's day because you know, frankly, the Lord did it through me. I like to give Him the praise for Mother's Day, both for His gifts and His teaching me how to be a mother. Blessings.

You sound to me the ultimate mother, the one who'll do even the impossible for the well being of her children.

You definitely deserve the faith and belief in you shown by your daughters, the Love bestowed upon you by them.

Blessings to you and your daughters!

I'd better comment and wish you a Happy Mother's Day BEFORE I click and listen that song. It always makes me cry. I love my daughters so much some times that I think I will truly burst.

You are indeed blessed, Nikki ... but so are your precious daughters to have you for a mother. Sometimes, I wonder if perspective hasn't made you a better parent than those who take motherhood for granted?
At any rate, thank you for blessing us with your insights!

Happy Mothers Day!

Just precious, Nikki. Your girls are so very fortunate to have you as their mother. You give them so much love, and you are such a wonderful testimony to them of God's love.

Hope you had a great Mom's Day - and that you know how cherished you are!

GOD BLESS!

Precious and what a wonderful mother you are. Enjoy those girls!!

I have another side of the story...I tried to protect in every way a mother knows how, and yet, the enemy came in through the back door and stole from one of my children. The guilt at times can be overwhelming, if I don't cling to His word and watch the redemption story unfold before me...which it has and the testimony is glorious....our God is a perfect parent, so when the enemy pulls his pounces, God brings beauty from the ashes.

This a beautiful post. You sound like you done your "job" as a mother very well. I pray for God's grace to continue to help you with that "job." I know I cherish my Mom and am happy I had a day to say thank you for all that she does. Thanks for sharing.

Hugs and blessings,
Manda
