No Fool!

Linking with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at  Faith Filled Fridays

"He's no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose" Jim Elliot

Why does it have to be the tough things that become the catalyst to push me to do what I would've never considered before. All the scrapes, bumps and bruises......they show me there's something deeper than the pain...something greater than the fall......

I know He's got a purpose....a plan... but it requires surrender....and death to those things I'm used to. It seems to be the only way......to be reborn  so my life can become effective.

Part of me wants to sit on the sidelines..... and watch and cheer for others stepping into the call.  But deep inside.....I feel a strong pull.....a strange knowing that He wants me also to be ready...prepared.... equipped.

Happy Easter Guys!

Nikki,
I think He pushes us to be our absolute best individual we can be but it's a journey and a slow one at that with many pitfalls and obstacles....but that's why HE is there; to catch us when we fall!
Have a blessed day!

The video brought tears to me this morning. I think I have been weepy this whole Easter season. We have counted the cost to follow Christ...we know it...but some have actually paid it...Praise God that death is not the end only the beginning!! God help us to not hold on to our own lives...

Yes, everything which God allows in my life, or yours, or anyone's, is for the purpose of making me, or you, or them, more like Jesus. And Jesus was willing to die because He saw the joy which would result. It is a journey of surrender and death, but the result is life.

I don't know most of the people in this video, isn't that awful?? But I see they gave their lives for their beliefs and ideals. Some would think them fools....wishing you a wonderful Easter, Sarah!!!!

Surrender. Instinctively, it sounds frightening, doesn't it? Love how you gently encourage us to look past the fear.
Have a blessed day, my friend!

Surrender...I needed this! Hey, if you think of it, could you send up a prayer? The publisher is giving me some grief, and I may have to pull out of this project. I'm very sad...

Such a heartfelt post. While I cannot clearly undersand the video, I have read of Jim Elliot's work and death. A man with a total heart for the Lord and salvation of others. Your precious words on my blog humble me. Thank you for for blessing me twice. First by your words to me, then by this beautiful post of yours. Blessings.

WOW!! I love this, and I could have written it myself. My flesh wants to cower in safety and call myself a warrior of the faith because I'm a prayer warrior for the soldiers. But I know that he has called me for greater than that.

This post really spoke to me!
(And I have been away from the computer so I am just getting around to both blogland and email. Thank you for your note. I can't tell you how much it means to me.)

Each word just grabbed my heart speaking different messages to me at each turn.

Today I found out my son will be going to Cambodia to help with get girls out of trafficking...and I so wanted to go, but I know I will be praying...each of us are a part of the body, and different parts...and we each need to say Yes!!

I went to church for the first time in years on Easter. I cried through the entire service. It was about fath.
And fear.
Can I be bold and ask for prayer Nikki?
I have a lot of fear now and struggle to hold onto faith..
Thank you
