Kindness

Linking up with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at Beholding Glory

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see"  Mark Twain

The people who made the greatest impact on my life were the ones who shone light in my darkness. Their kindness cut through all the hardness....their caring and compassion showed me something better than what I knew. They never asked for anything.....except that I not let go of hope....and keep fighting....and know that they were there....in my corner, cheering me on.

I want to be like those people and shine hope in someone else's darkness.
Kindness....it's a powerful force that can help to overcome anything.

"A little kindness goes a long ways..."
In society today, this is how we can really shine for Christ. Reaching out to others with care and compassion.
Great post, Sarah.

I think we sometimes don't realize how just the tiniest thing that means nothing to us, can mean so much to someone else! Like even a big smile to someone who has only been faced with negativity all day.

Beautiful post and well said Sarah. Being kind in even a small way can be huge in someones elses life. I think we can all relate to how kindness has made a difference in our own lives. Thank you for shining your light for others to see, and for writing your book to inspire and help others.

Have a Blessed Sunday.
Hugs, Dianne :)

Yes! Kindness is something the world could use more of, we all could use more of. I pray He can use me to sprinkle some light in the darkness just like you are doing. God bless you!

I hope you don't mind me commenting here about your book. I have read 3/4 of your book since I purchased it yesterday. What a story! I read another book recently called 'Damaged' by Cathy Glass and I only wish you could speak to the child who this book was written about... I believe you would truly understand her anguish and pain. Sadly, the story in that book is not one of redemption but reading your testimony brings hope for this child and a renewed focus to pray for her to find healing from the tortured mind which she is imprisoned in.

Your story is one of hope for those so badly damaged by others' sin and depravity, whilst at the same time hammers home the power of God's redeeming love. What a trophy you are of God's wonderful grace.

A beautiful post about the importance of kindness.

You know, you don't see too many people in this world anymore who are kind. We seem to have warped the Golden Rule into "Do unto others before they do it to you!"

How sad.

This world also doesn't seem to applaud the gentle or the meek or the humble.

All of those words apply to Jesus - and that's one of the many reasons why I love Him so.

Joining you in thanking the people in my life who have been kind to me - and for the unfailing kindness of a Savior who shone hope into my heart.

GOD BLESS!

this post made me think of "Homeless to Harvard" and how that neighbor was so kind to her. Something that sustained her in her missery

Hi Sarah, In 1986 when I lost my hearing suddenly and totally at 39 there were those who could do no more than light a single candle in my path, but that single candle illuminate "hope" more than they will ever know. I too, ask that I may simply smile at those I pass, knowing that smile may be the only one someone may see that day. That I may light a candle of hope. I was implanted in 1999 with the cochlear implant, giving me 50% of my life back, one to one in quiet place is like normal hearing. Social aspects not too good, too much noise all around. So my kindness has to come from small loving gestures and my daily prayer is that HE place those needs and opportunity to fill them before me each day. Never, never underestimate the power of kindness. Such an excellent post! Blessings.

Dear Nikki
This is powerful. How easy it is to be unkind, especially in our thoughts, attitudes, and judgments.

And with such, how easy it is for us to imprison others with they way we think.

But with kindness, we give them room to be who they are... kindness accepts the other and gives room for them to grow, and gives them freedom to soar...

Yes, kindness indeed is a force that cannot be underestimated.

Because others were kind to you at one point in your dark and painful past, you are where you are today.

Their kindness brought you out of a dark prison and into the light.

Love
Lidia
