Burning

Linking up with Charlotte at  Spiritual Sunday  and Laura at Beholding Glory

"What is to give light must endure burning" Victor Frankl

I've met many people who've survived the Holocaust. Their stories are horrific. Their torment....unimaginable. Victor Frankl spent three years in the camps. He survived  by holding onto  faith in a loving God. They had stripped him of everything.....but the one thing they couldn't take away.....was his belief in the goodness of God. It's what gave him the strength and courage to rise above the anger, hatred and despair.

I used to ask all the time.....why did all those horrible things happen in my life. Why didn't God stop them....or even prevent them from happening in the first place. I didn't know then...but I do now....He used them to make me strong....and to show that faith in a loving God can overcome anything. What I want to do now....is stand up....stand tall and shine hope for others so they too will know the joy and peace and freedom that I found.

I want to set the world on fire...until it's burning bright for You.........

It's hard in the midst of our pain to see that, isn't it but He is also the only one who can get us through.

Like yourself, I too used to ask God "Why am I going through this situation?" Now, I praise Him that He trusts me with situations where He may be glorified and realise that trials are in fact a privilege. God changed my mindset slowly as I studied His Word and prayed.

What a privilege indeed we have.

Love the song you posted... it so reflects your heart for God. Beautiful xx

I asked God many times that question and still ask sometimes. But the answers is always, in everything there is lesson to learn. Just trust me and be at peace.

Yes, God weeps with us, feels our pain, and brings goodness from our sufferings...we are blessed to not ever walk alone.

Hi Sarah -

Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world - a battle zone to be accurate. When Adam and Eve sinned, they unleashed unimaginable horrors on the human race.

I'm so glad the Lord is in the business of restoration. He takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it around for our good. As we trust and lean into Him, He gives us the strength, courage, and patience to move through it and be victorious.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I like reminders like this...That even if we are stripped away of things, who do we have but God? In that truth, I rejoice! God bless you sister!

Isn't it great to know God uses the hard places to make us strong--and in turn we can use our strength to help others who are hurting? You've packed a lot of encouragement here today.

Deafness at 39 and all that transpired for my children because of that......never understood why this way. Yet....yet...each morning I thank Him for another precious day to Praise His name. You are a beacon of light and hope and never, never forget how very much the world needs you and your abilities to touch others. Blessings.

we wonder and always want to know the whys of everything, but it doesn't really matter. What matters is that we can get out of it, that there is a way out and that faith is the ladder to reach freedom
