Thankful Thursday

Linking with Cami Thankful Thursdays

"I know that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after." Ernest Hemingway

I've learned a tough lesson. Not everyone who claims to be a believer acts morally, ethically or honestly. I trusted someone and he lied. And he used the Bible to prove his point and I fell for it. When I found out the truth.....

At first I was confused....then upset...but the overwhelming support of family and good friends has been amazing. Because of them I'm choosing to let go and move forward. I'm thankful that........

-friends care enough to rally around and point me to a higher ground
-What happened is only a blip in life....not horribly devastating that I can't bounce back from it.
-I've learned a lesson...okay it's been a tough one....but now I'm aware.....and won't fall for this again. Boy is it easy to be conned!
-my 16 yr old who witnessed all this said, Why aren't people more honest and kind. It would make the world so much nicer. I didn't know what to say. Later we went for a hike. We found a set of keys. Passing a house we asked a lady if she had lost them. She hadn't....but she jumped in her car and said let's go find the person. It was dark but she zipped around the area until finally she drove us home. She turned to us and said, one thing for sure about all of us, we really care about people. I looked at my daughter. Yep. He knew she needed to see kindness in action.
-that He's a great amazing God no matter what!

It is sad to see then again not surprising since the Bible had warned us that many will follow doctrines...not from Him but from the evil one. Lack of knowledge (His truth) does destroy people. Many claim to be Christians but the feet are going the opposite direction away from Christ. I always believe in the saying "actions speak louder than words." I'm glad you are that example to your daughters. May God bless you and protect you all. Take care sister.

So sorry this happened. It is tragic when this happens, isn't it? But I am thankful you are there to teach your 16 year old right from wrong - many people do not have this. I agree with the post above :) It is so amazing that YOU are there for your daughter and YOU can be the teacher - not the other silly people. HUGS.

Thanks for linking up to THankful Thursday <3

Ah, friend, I have had it happen to me, too. It's hard to be treated unethically or immorally by those outside the faith. The sting is so much harsher when it is from one professing the faith.

I'm thankful FOR YOU for the lessons learned and the faithful folks who supported you.

It has happened to me too. It is amazing how people can con even themselves. I'm sorry it happened to you and your daughter. I hope they found whose keys it was.

Hi Nikki,
I learned very early in my Christian walk that there are those in sheep's clothing and beneath it all beats the heart of a wolf. I was hurt terribly and it could have destroyed my faith. But instead, God used the situation to make me stronger. He opened my eyes and made me realize that only He can be trusted one hundred per cent. Only He will not let me down.
We're human. And as hard as we may try to be perfect, sooner or later, we will make a mistake. But if we confess our sin He is righteous and will forgive us our sin. Praise God!
As a pastor's wife, I have seen many hearts broken {including my own} and fabrications told. I have learned to trust Him and through it all, He has shown Himself to be ever faithful. And that is why I Follow Him! He's my Rock.
Thank you, dear friend, for once again paying me a visit. It's always lovely to hear from you. Enjoy this gorgeous new season of Spring; a wondrous time of the year!

Blessings,
Sandi

Betrayal hurts. In the worst way. Jesus has been there, too . . . and He understands. That's our hope and comfort, isn't it?

Thank you for encouraging me with your comments on my blog!

God always brings light to the darkness....I am so sorry that you were duped but looks like you handled the situation in a godly fashion and that's what God wants from us....Man will fail you but God will never fail you or leave you....

I like the way you end this post in such a positive way.
Yes, it happens to all of us when we trust others. I still want to trust regardless of how many times I've been wrong.

Is this your "writing" blog? I lost all the blog contacts I had and I can't find your writing blog.

I am so sorry you were conned. I just don't understand the heart of a person who can do that. ((HUGS))
