Lost and Found

Linking up with Charlotte at Spiritual Sunday and Laura at Brag on Fridays

"One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries." A.A. Milne

I'm not always organized. I try to be.....but sometimes I put stuff away and then forget about them.  Like when we moved here.....I put a bunch of  coins in a cup and stuck them on a top shelf in the kitchen....then I totally forgot about them until......

The day I was cleaning up and rearranging the shelves. I discovered that cup full of coins.  The discovery made me really happy.

Another time a lady sent me six books. I didn't have time to read them so I stuck them in the downstairs desk. A few months later I thought about them...but couldn't remember where I put them. I searched all over the house....still nothing. Then one I needed something from that desk. When I went to open the drawer.....Voila....the six books were sitting there.

Lost and Found.  The emotions of feeling something's lost is crazy. There's a frantic need to find that lost thing. And the feeling of finally finding it.....total joy.

I remember when I lived lost....I wandered around with this awful feeling in my gut.....
And I remember the day He found me....the overwhelming joy.

I once was lost but now am found.......

Hi Nikki, I am one of those who misplaces things. Once I searched diligently for a book for several weeks and I was so happy when I discovered it in the most unlikely place. Now I have tons of books but that one was the one I wanted at time. Say way God is about us. He has lots of children but He is concerned about the lost ones too. Have a great weekend.

Can you just image how He wants to wrap us in His loving arms and confirm to us that we are not lost any more but safe in Him....

Beautiful post....

Beautiful testimony! Each lost sheep is so loved by the Gentle Shepherd. The song is one of my favorites and is on my blog's playlist.

I absolutely love Amazing Grace...it was sung at my Grandmother's funeral and it always warms my heart. Thanks for the reminder that we are always enveloped in HIS love!

I always put things places where I won't forget them--and then promptly forget where they are! I'm thankful God hasn't forgotten me one time!

The benefits of being disorganized... Me too!!! I love finding lost money in pockets of old pants. :) So happy that God found me when I was lost, too. Hugs to you, my friend.

Blessings,
Tammy

I love that song! I had a friend, very ill with cancer, who was present when the worship team I'm on sang that. I kept looking at her, knowing her chains would soon be gone. It was hard to sing. When she died, her husband asked us to sing that very song for her funeral. I think of my friend, Mary, now every time I hear it.

I'm constantly misplacing things lately. But yes, I so understand that unexpected joy when you re-find something. Brings to my mind the prodigal son.

What we feel when we find something is but a shadow of the joy the Lord feels over US when we return to Him.

We are so greatly loved.

GOD BLESS!

I love this song.

Yes, such joys in the lost being found. I'm cleaning off the coffee table and finding "new" things that were lost under there. ;-) So glad God never loses us! Have a great week, Nikki.

Good morning Nikki,
I'm so glad I am found!
What a blessing to come here this morning and listen to Michael's version of this heart-felt song!
{My son learned to play the keyboard while listening to Michael's music.} I guess MWS will always be one of my favourites.
Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day...Sandi

I can certainly identify with this post. I tend to attribute it to my age, but I know that's not true because I've always been this way. Another thought came to mind. When I was a little girl I loved to look under the cushions on chairs. There were always a few coins there. What a thrill.
Thank you for sharing another encouraging post.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Standing with the other Lost but Found sisters and singing with you.

My Bible study lesson for Sunday was about a "lost and found" Jesus. How Providential that I came here and saw this.
