I Can Only Imagine

Linking up with Charlotte at  Spiritual Sunday   and Laura at Beholding Glory
"Most of us can't even begin to imagine" Meg Whitman

Most days are ordinary.....regular kind of days.....but in the middle of them.....I sometimes feel this wild explosive feeling bubble up inside.  A joy....an amazing feeling that's hard to contain.  It comes from Him...I know it...from being in His presence. From taking time to talk to Him and mostly to hear Him talk to me. It's when I walk alone in nature...in the woods or along the lake near our home.....It's when I close myself off from the phone, from people....from activities...... and take time.....just to be with Him.

When I feel it.....I always think of  when you shake a soda bottle.....and the soda fizzles and pushes against the insides of the bottle. And if you open the lid.....it explodes and gushes all over the place. That's it exactly. That's how I feel.

Joy.....it comes from Him.
Joy.....I never could have imagined it was possible to feel like this
Joy.....it's the best feeling ever. It makes me want to run...dance....shout
Joy.....it makes me feel alive and strong and determined to be the best I can to shine for Him.
I can only imagine what it'll feel like when I walk by Your side......

You described the joy I feel in his presence. Exactly, like I am bubbling over with His Joy!!!

It is not of this world.....

Yes, I know what you are talking about!! I really like the illustration of the soda bottle. I'm glad He just keeps adding the "fizz" in our lives!

Your comment on my post about late bloomers touched me so; it's really encouraging when someone "gets" what I'm trying to say!

What I love about His joy, it is not affected despite whatever circumstances are going on around us. That's a powerful image you shared to describe what you're feeling and so true...we can't even imagine...One of my fav songs. God bless you sister and praying always that you remain strong in His mighty power!

Great video! I saw this song performed by a sign langauge choir at a memorial service and will never forget it. The woman had been a dancer, so the verse about "Will I dance for you Jesus?" was very poignant. Have a JOYFUL week, Sarah. Love you, Sister.

Isn't that joy that bubbles up just wonderful and only a product in our life that He can bring? This is one of my top five songs...and I can only imagine.

Have a great weekend...you just exploded your joy all over me...thanks!

A joy from being in his presence. Yes, I know what you mean, Nikki. Sometimes we can go outside and purposefully find that experience; other times he surprises us with it out of nowhere.

We sung "I Can Only Imagine" Wednesday night. It always moves me; always.

I love the analogy you used about the can of soda.

I also love walking among nature, feeling His presence...away from the noise and cares of everyday life.

Blessings,
Joan

Oh yes, I know what you mean, Sarah. Sometimes it's also a joyful tear -- an overwhelming embrace from something Divine. A divine hug!

May God's grace and peace dwell in you.

May God fill your days with His effervescent joy. He's brought you out of a hard place and I loved reading His joy bubbles up in you like that. I'm a big John Tesh fan so I loved the song, Sarah!

Oh how lovely it is to feel the joy that only He can give.
The joy of reading His word while He speaks.
The joy of being in His presence.

Oh yes, dear Nikki... I can only imagine what it will be like on that day. The joy, oh the joy unspeakable, beyond description, there will be nothing like it on earth, so we can't even begin to imagine. But yes, imagining helps, even if what we have are shattered distorted images of the real thing. Heaven will be an experience much too glorious for us to grasp with our finite human minds!

But the way you shared your heart, your words... that soda bottle bubbling over with pure joy. There are days when I feel that way, and it takes me by surprise... it is the joy of the Lord that comes when we least expect it.

Thank you for such a joy filled post. I so needed this boost today!

Love
Lidia

What a perfect depiction, Nikki. I love it. I need some of that fizz just about now. Kind of gone flat. ;)

Much love.
