Thankful Thursday

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”  Maya Angelou

Simple pleasures! It's the little things that make life special.....those moments or things that make the world seem right and perfect even if just for a bit. This week I'm grateful for.....

-reading my daughter's poetry. Her heart is incredibly beautiful. I'm humbled by her sweet gentle spirit and honored to hear her words.
-listening to my youngest practice guitar and the two of us imagining her hitting the big times one day.....another Taylor Swift or Hilary Duff.....and then her and I cracking up and rolling on the floor laughing.
-hiking with a special friend. She's been coming over every week to see me, to walk together and to share pieces of her life.  We've been doing this for a few months now.....both of us now feel a tight bond....a strong connection and a commitment to keep going.
-Writing.....I love sitting down at the computer.....and the ideas flowing....scenes unfolding....plot developing....and characters coming to life. I get lost for hours...caught up in the storyline....and always feeling deeply satisfied inside.....
-The best are the moments when I feel His gentle touch...and remember that His story lives in me with every breath I breathe. It's His amazing touch that has given me incredible love and tremendous peace.

Beautifully expressed, Sarah. The simpler the better for me these days. I am falling more in love with simplicity with each passing day.

Thank you for stopping by. I look forward to visiting. Hope you don't mind me snooping around your place for a while. ;)

Much love,
Marcia

Thank you, Sarah, for sharing a lovely post. It is so very important to be thankful for the blessings in one's life. And I am, believe me!
Life has been exceedingly hard for me the past several months. I haven't been blogging much because of it. I always appreciate your sharing, my friend. Thank you.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your daughters are a wonderful blessing and you are a wonderful blessing to them. HE really does guide us ... even through the difficult times (we sometimes just don't see it). I'm so happy to read that writing is bringing joy to you ... my steps have been baby ones in this arena - though in my heart and soul I know that I must get words out so that I can help others as much as myself ... wishing you a wonderful week xo, Blessings, HHL

Sarah, it is those moments with our children that for me are the best memories for me. I enjoyed reading your thoughts about simple pleasures. Sometimes, I forget to remember the little things in life.

I appreciate your comments on my blog. My creativity is not flowing right now. I am patiently waiting though.

Love you my sweet friend.
Pam

So beautiful, Nikki... simple joys, simple pleasures. Laughter... Poetry... Walking with a friend... oh, and writing. Yes, writing - I can relate to that as well.

I have no doubt that your new book will be another opportunity to bring glory to our God!

Through you, God's light shines in the darkness!

Much love
Lidia

I have used that quote at the top before, I just love it! YES, some of us waste most of our lives waiting for the big things to come along, they don't realize that the little things ARE the big things!!!

As usual, I can picture the moments you describe and love your shout outs of praise.

This is my favorite part:

"The best are the moments when I feel His gentle touch...and remember that His story lives in me with every breath I breathe."

I love how you enjoy the simple things in life. You are a wonderful mom! So many parents these days are too busy to find wonder in their children's words and laughter.

I just heard that a publisher is interested in my book. I need to talk to my author coach to get the details and see if this would be a good path for me. But still...I'm hoping this is it!
