Linking up with Dayle at Simple Pleasure
“Gratitude helps you grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you.” Eileen Caddy
This week we've been away....up north...way up...in the mountains. It's true ...the hills really are alive with the sound of music and being out in them....you can hear their song everywhere you step. This week I'm thankful for
-Mountains.....we hiked. all over them....breathing in their power and awesomeness
-Dominique....someone we met who touched all of us.Her kindness to us made the trip even more special.
-Stones - we spent time fishing for stones in the lakes - so many difference colored and shaped ones. A small thing but something that brought so much joy with each amazing find.
-Guidance -coming home we made a wrong turn and drove 5 hours before realizing we had no idea where we were. We finally found out that we were going in the wrong direction. We prayed and were led to an amazing hotel that was perfect.....the people were wonderful and it even had a waterpark for the kids.
-The beauty He provided - He made all this...the mountains....the lakes...the variety of flowers and stones.....the animals...all of it for us to enjoy. I think He knew there would be times we would become discouraged....and going outside...in His creations renews faith and hope like nothing else could.

Such a beautiful post! There really is nothing better than nature to remind us that HE provides so much for us ~ if we only take the time to enjoy it. We were recently in Stowe , Vermont and it was a most similiar experience in peace. Blessings xo..HHL
I loved living in the Mountains.
They are alive with beauty.
Mountains!!!
Lived near the rockies for ten years.
As soon as Abigail graduates from high school, my husband and I are moving back to CO.
Its like you're higher up and consequently closer to God - at least I always feel his presence intensely when we're in
the mountains!!

O.K. friend, I think the time has come to get a GPS. They are wonderful!! They will even show you points of interest wherever you are. The closest gas station, shopping, museums, places to eat, etc. Aren't the mountains wonderful? I feel protected by them, and they did protect us in this earthquake. Do you live in a flat area?
Woah, lady! Your thoughts and perceptions are a wake-up call always. I love those rounded stones!! :) Their very mention lights me up!
Glad you're safe and back!

The mountains are so peaceful and you feel so close to God. Beautiful post.
Love the mountains, but most of all the provisions that God gives us each day. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful sweet post.

I love that picture. It reminds me of a place I used to go to as a child when I needed to be alone.
Nature always makes me feel close to God too.
Oh I soooooooooooo agree with the last statement that He knew we would become discouraged and getting out in His creation would renew us...I search for it, even if just a city park or trail
Glad you had such a wonderful trip

Nikki,
He is truly an amazing God - whenever we get on the wrong road He will lead us back to where we need to be. I love your testimony and the love you share with your family. Perfect Simple Pleasure.

Nikki, this post moved me ... your words moved me. Being out in God's world is simply amazing and you described it so perfectly. I'm sorry for your 5-hour travels, only to discover you were going the wrong way, but how wonderful to find a great place to stay and regroup.
Always a joy to have you link up.
I love being outside with his beauty. The song is beautiful. I love your new blog look~~
Blessings,
Ginger
